Play Arts Kai Batman Arkham Asylum, Play Arts Kai Final Fantasy XIII-2 & Bishoujo Liara T'soni
It seems Square-Enix is adding more western developed franchises(the previous two being Halo and Deus Ex and yes, I know Deus Ex: Human Revoltution is published by Square-Enix) to the Play Arts Kai line. This time Batman Arkham Asylum is joining the lineup. The Play Arts Kai figures seem to be considerably more detailed and overall better quality than the DC Direct versions. Though, that's not to say I don't think the DC Direct figures look bad by any means. Since Batman and the Joker are going to be realased, I hope this line does well so that Harley, Catwoman and Posion Ivy will be relased as well.
In additon to the Lightning figure that I covered in a previous post, it seems Sera will also be joining the Final Fantasy XIII-2 lineup. I'm happy to see that they will be releasing more figures from XIII-2, but it seems to me, that it would make more sense to release a few figures from the series at a time as they have done with previous Final Fantasy Play Arts figures. It would also save me some money on shipping =P.
Joining the ever expanding lineup of Bishoujo figues this time is Liara T'soni from Mass Effect. It seems that Kotobukiya has taken fan feedback into consideration with this figure. I read a thread on the Bioware forums and tons of people were talking negatively about the size of her breasts in the original concept art by Shunya Yamashita. While the final version still seems to be "well stocked in that department", they don't seem to be as big as they were in the concept art. I'm not complaining, just making an observation there. Also, as with the X-23 Bishoujo figure, I have an issue with the face. It's not so much the facial expression in this case, but moreso that she looks too young. Yea, by Asari standards, Liara is young, but she looks younger here than she does in the Mass Effect games. That said, I will still be buying the figure for sure.

Actually Harley Quinn will be released in the Batman like of PAK. Just announced some time back ^^
Were prototype pics released along with the announcement?
Waiting to see how Lightning will turn out and Street Fighter Capcom Play Arts. Will be my first Play Arts if they turn out well.
If the FFXIII-2 Lightning turns out to be as good as the FFXIII version, IMO, she will be a quality figure. Can't say much about the Street Fighter Play Arts, as I have only seen pictures of those so far.
I didn't like how Lightning's hair turned all clumpy for the FFXIII versions.
love the serrah , but i dont like the final product of PA, not good as the prototype
i still dreaming about hot toys version of final fantasy characters
The only Play Arts figures I have been disappointed with so far are Hitsuagaya and Rukia figures from the Bleach line, though the complain is somewhat minor. Their ankle joints are fairly small compared to most other Play Arts figures and so they are considerably more fragile. Also, the annkle joints just seem to be constructed differently than other PA figures. Anyhoo, upon taking the figures out of the box to inspect them, their feet fell off almost immediately. It's not something superglue won't fix, but still an annoyance, especially considering how much the figures cost.
