BRSOVA Original Picture Collection ::review::

While this book appears just to be a storyboard of the OVA, I would disagree. I'd describe it more as a publication of production key cels in chronological order.

Each page is intentionally composed to be enjoyable to flip through, featuring large, beautifully crisp images. If you are the kind of person who likes seeing animation cels in their raw forms, this book is amazing.

The only thing this book doesn't have is... anything else. So if you were looking for more new original illustrations by huke, or full page reproductions of full color cels... you are out of luck.

This is a specialty book. As "A jack-of-all-trades is a master of nothing." This book does one thing, and does it well. In fact, more beautifully then I've ever seen before.

In short; If you enjoy looking under to hood of your animes, this is the book for you. If not, sorry.

As the animation book is a specialized book for the beauty of production key cels, the Character Design Book takes images that usually measure a few inches high in most artbooks changes that, and puts them large and in charge.

These images have been published before in the "Phenomenon" book, but here size and resolution make all the difference. This book has the same page size as the animation book, and what at first feels like bizarrely high resolution.

On a side note, some people might recognize one of these poses from my last post.

There's really only so much to say about this book. Again, if these kinda of images are your thing, this is the best version of that thing. But what you see is what you get. There are more pages then pictured here, but its not exactly thick. (i'm not looking to give it away for them entirely)
