And thats all. Hard to pack and unpack all of that...

A productive trip then i see xD
I dont think i would ever have enough money if i went over there as i would just buy everything that caught my eye, how do you stop yourself ?
O.o i want Dodonpachi Dai-ou-jou
Yeah. I think I spent about 100 pounds a day just on living when on holiday in Japan, let alone on buying stuff. I'm scared to look at my bank balance now. Stuff in Japan is really expensive.
And, Dai-ou-jou, yes, I like it, but spend most of my time in the arcades this trip playing Mushihime-sama ver 1.5 which only just came out this year.
*steals*
*steals*
Oi! Stop taking all my Rei stuff!
Rei looks good!
Kamen Rider not Ultraman
Oh right yeah - I'm severely tired from flying, whoops. Ultraman makes wifi now though.
Do want
These two and the Shining Sky one. I have no regrets. *passes out*
I've just unfolded the posters that came with the 2 magazines and the 2011 election book. You would love them too. The Shining Sky book seems nice from a brief flick through.
This is my Must-Have drink in Japan!
Ha, I know you love this. AKB have been tempting me over to the Wonda Morning Shot. Its really nice. I also quite like the cafe au laits, from whichever brand.
Just bought some of this at the J-Mart. You mix one packet with 1 liter of water.
I think you can do more. I did one packet with 1 litre last time and it was far too strong compared to the Japanese stuff. I think it might be more like one packet to 2 litres. I dunno, I've got a lot to last me now! Would love to find some back at home.
That's odd because both the lady at the J-mart and online info say 1 liter per packet unless there is a larger size I don't know about. The one I got has 5 packets in it.
Aha, the boxes I have say they contain 5x74g packets (1 litre each). So you are right.
Maybe the packet I had last year was bigger? I don't know, anyway, it was far too strong for 2 pints for one packet. Give yours a go!
Melon Pan!
It wasn't that nice. I actually took this photo from my hotel room back when I bought the stuff. I thought it might have melon in it :(
Hope you had a great trip! Looking forward to more pics after you catch some sleep. LOL
I had an awesome trip! A bit sad to be coming back...
I want to go back again! I've every decided that next time I'll visit less places. I visited less this time than the first, but still too many.
What do you want to see photos of?
Everything of course! LOL. I hear you about feeling sad when having to leave. Its like being kicked out of your home and having to wait a year to return. Planning is the most important part of the trip I think. I make an A List for myself of all the places I have to hit and try to take care of them first. Then its on to the B list and just lots of wandering around town, particularly side and back streets. Sometimes, I just like to sit in an area like say Ueno Park and just look at life in general and man that is so relaxing.
You can't have everything! I didn't manage to hit everything on my list - missed a lot around Tokyo especially (including the two Good Smile Cafes). I kinda really just made a list of what town I would be in each day, so the Tokyo days were really not-planned.
Anyway, here is a rough list of what I did that I recorded on my phone as I went along:
Fri - noodles, sushi, roppongi
Sat - akiba, super potato, taito, shibuya, yakitori, alkatraz ER,
brazilian TV
Sun - Ghibli, Park Hyatt, gov met building, shinjuku, golden gai. Busy
bar. Empty bar w/kimchi
Mon - lawsons, stand up sushi, bus, kawaguchi-ko,
Tues - lake, fuji-San, lake, shochu
Weds - lake, Evangelion world, trip to nikko
Thurs - walk up nikko to onsen
Fri - around nikko. Shrines, monkeys, park
Sat - swimming in river, bike ride, golden gai, sushi
Sun - hungover, harajuku park, shibuya, shinjuku, yakitori alley,
capsule
Mon - akiba, shinkansen
Tues - kyoto, fushimi-inari, tofukuji, a-cho
Weds - Kyoto, heian-jingu, ginkaku-ji, yakiniku
Thurs - shinkansen, toyosato (k-on) school, Osaka, nano.RIPE,
takoyaki, okonomiyaki, sunrise setto/izumi
Fri - akiba, @home, taito,
Sat - akiba, AKB48 Team 4
Definitely want to see the Park Hyatt again as I always pay tribute there as my inspiration to go to Japan. Was the stand up sushi at Nakano Broadway? Had mine there. Just post stuff as you get the chance. It took me almost two weeks to post my pics last time around so its kinda like getting a daily treat. LOL. Any idea when you're going back? April 22 is my target date.
I had the stand-up sushi in Shinjuku. To the west side of the station.
On my previous trip I used to have it in Shinjuku station in the Keio mall.
I really think it is the best sushi - I offended a sushi chef in kyoto when I said his wasn't as good and was twice the price - whoops, but I had had far too much shochu at the time. On one of my final days I went to a Japanese only place where you couldn't even point and did pretty well at ordering sushi by names I remembered - it was harder to order a beer than the sushi I wanted - I was pretty pleased with that.
No idea when I'm going back - when I was there my boss mentioned that he might send me back to spend more time at the lab at KEK, but I doubt it.
I don't have enough money to go back anytime soon...
I'll have to check that out. The standing sushi I had at Nakano was really good and so cheap: http://www.figure.fm/post/en/27044/Nakano+Broadway.html
Yeah, its the same stand-up sushi chain I think. You order a lot at a time! With sushi, I like to go in, order a beer. Then wait a while before ordering something. Then wait a while and order something else. Its a slow process but more enjoyable than having a bunch of stuff at once. I try and do the same with yakitori too. Means I don't get great pictures of lots of food though.
What can I say, I know what I like! LOL. I kinda like to get all the goodies out and in me and then rest up and enjoy the afterglow of the meal. I did have to hold back so I could get a good pic of the food but as soon as he was done and the pic snapped, I hit it.
Hey LoganRunn, how long are you planning to go back for when you go there in April? Shoot me an email at julio3rd at hotmail dot com
Just sent the email.
itadaki Mayuyu!!
Mayuyu is love.
awesome, and i hate you... lol XD
I hate you too :p
And despite the ridiculous title (which makes more sense in Japanese) the game looks good, came with a soundtrack CD also.
I still wanna play... D: lol
What kind of this thing?? a book or...?? LOVE K-ON!!!
Er, it folds out into a poster. On the other side are information about the shops in Lumine Est where the promotion is valid. If you spend over 5000 Yen in one of those shops, you get one of three prizes (which are also detailed on the back). All feature this design. There is some big promotion for the Lumine K-ON stuff (Lumine is a department store in Shinjuku, and also Shibuya)
Like a boss. Also, what kind of drink does the Sonico bottle contain?
Ice tea.
Actually, one bar I went to had the whole counter full of used one-cup sakes, and a lot of them were anime themed (the bar owner loves anime)
Did you get these at Super potato in Akiba?
Yes :)
Almost bought a Wonderswan there as well.
Bought the Shenmue Orchestra version soundtrack there too!
I love Super potato!! Got a lot of Famicom and Super Famicom games. Some are pretty cheap, as I got Gundam Wing Endless Duel for 300yen, but some are crazy expensive like Zeta Gundam Hot Scramble Special Edition (silver cartridge) for Famicom at 39800 yen and 148000 yen for the still in box one!! http://www.figure.fm/post/en/26935/Figure+pictures+in+very+random+state.html#image-224082
It's an awesome shop. But it is expensive compared to other Akiba stores. And Den Den Town is a lot cheaper than Akiba also. I didn't spend too much time looking for games this time. Last trip spent a lot of time looking for Dreamcast games.
Those are some expensive Famicom carts! I always get tempted to collect Famicom carts because they look so awesome with all the different shapes and colours.
Still have a dozen of these cans that I ordered from ebay. I missed Boss coffee too much event thought I went to Japan quite a few times. This year I fell in love with the Half&Half Boss Coffee!
Wow, how much do they cost on ebay?
I drink the Rainbow Mountain Blend and the Cafe au Lait.
An arm and a leg!!! My friend who loves Japan as much as I do and I ordered 20 cans. 16 Rainbow Mountain blend and 4 Café au lait. We then split half and enjoyed our Boss like bosses!! XD That was about a year and a half ago. I miss Boss coffee a lot now, since I didn't have any since March...
Wow. Good choices of drinks. Nice to have someone to share BOSS with. I love the vending machine design.
Kamen Rider Fourze!! Uchuu kitaaaaa!!!
I'm jealous of all your loot ~ *3* Boo!
Hehe. Much epic shopping was done!
