Giving Back!

Reaching into the Wayback Machine, back in May I was privileged to help out with Tomo Neko Maid Cafe, which was put together by a bunch of my friends here in Southern California. We managed to raise $300 for the Yoshiki Foundation America, who sent the proceeds on to the Japanese Red Cross Society to aid in relief efforts for the Earthquake and Tsunami of March 2011!
Why am I bringing this up now? Well, in the United States, the end of the year brings holidays that are traditionally a time to reflect on the things we are grateful for and also to think about how we can share our blessings with others. I'm happy to be part of a group of impassioned anime and manga fans who have channeled our love of Japanese culture into a fun and inventive way to help others! <3
We're busy working on another maid cafe, and I'll be sure to share details as they become available. But for now, if you're interested in other ways of helping others, be sure to check out my blog post on some of my favorite charities. Be sure to read all the way to the end! ;)
