J-List and SUTORAIKUanime Presents: The 100th figma Celebration - Hatsune Miku Around the World!
At SUTORAIKUanime, we like standing out from the rest of the crowd, constantly looking for new ways to provide the most interesting and unique content to our readers as possible. Ever since our establishment in the summer of 2010, myself and our admins ArashiX (retired), DuoMatrix and Suri have all been an enormous contribution to the progressive expansion of this online community. We've recently had several highly experienced and talented writers join our team, and so far it's been an absolute joy to have all of them be a part of this ever-growing online anime and Japanese pop culture community. After several giveaway events, which have all been huge successes, we've decided it was time to try something new, something that no other anime and Japanese pop culture website has ever attempted to do (as far as we're aware of course!), something completely original and only possible here at SUTORAIKUanime. In partnership with J-List once again, SUTORAIKUanime and J-List presents: The 100th figma Celebration - Hatsune Miku Around the World!
As of November 11, 2011, the SUTORAIKUanime community is made up of eight members and two guest writers, coming to a grand total of 10. Although there are many other websites in the aniblogosphere that may have more members than us, not that the numbers matter at all, we see ourselves as an online community, staying in touch with all of our members, from all corners of the world, as much as possible. We're able to take an international point of view, voice the opinions of consumers to the industry, and work hand-in-hand with some of the largest anime and Japanese pop culture websites on the net, and respected online retailers such as J-List.
After several days of conversing and sharing ideas back and forth between all of our members, we ultimately decided that the iconic Hatsune Miku would be used as the figurine for this event. We wanted this event to appeal to all fans of anime and Japanese pop culture, something that could be instantly recognized, and something that has a significant impact on anime all around the world. After reviewing our choice of figurines with J-List, we decided that the Hatsune Miku Append figma would be an appropriate choice for this event. As the 100th figma, we felt like it also stood out among the rest of the figurines, something of a milestone. We’d like to take this opportunity to celebrate with the rest of you, all of you, those who have a passion for anime and Japanese pop culture, as we send Miku quite literally, around the world to all members of our SUTORAIKUanime community, from Canada to the UK, from the United States to Australia.
Why exactly are we doing this event you ask? We’d like to showcase and raise awareness for the true diversity of anime to the world, and how far anime stretches all around the globe. Anime touches the lives of so many individuals, from otakus to lolicons (and the shotacons), cosplayers to Nico Nico Douga singers, we’re all connected by the intricate web of anime and Japanese pop culture that makes us part of this international network.
With that being said, Peter Payne of J-List has kicked off the event, with Miku looking as great as ever in front of the Tokyo Sky Tree.
This marks the beginning of a new direction for not only SUTORAIKUanime, but for the rest of the international online anime community. We will be keeping track of how far in terms of distance our Hatsune Miku figma has travelled, to give a sense of how vast the anime community really expands.
Welcome to the 100th figma Celebration - Hatsune Miku Around the World!
