Arrival: My side of the Story
As promised, I'll tell my side of 74N4/tana's story:
A few years back, I found Danny Choo's DC site thru twitter, as @fredrin, the author/artist of MegaTokyo.com was chatting about a "Tohya Miho" dollfie. I stated that I would buy one, if one were made. (Ignorantly unknowing what a "Dollfie" was, or, how expensive they were!!) And Dannys April Fools joke of selling StormTrooper oppai mousepads also linked me here. Well, I got hooked, then. After I signed on and became a member of this site back in early '09, I was entertained by all of the posts with figures, dollies and mecha.
When Poofiemus posted her girl, Agatha, from the Girl Genius online comic, I stepped up to make glasses for her. (belatedly realizing it would have been soo much easier to have a "model" so I didn't need to make three+ attempts!!)
Balldylox was very amusing with his girls antics, which made me want to get into the dollfie scene even more. Especially after seeing all the stuff he'd made and found for them.
So, when Chise had a DDII body for sale back in September, I jumped in with both feet.
(Billy had been looking for me, but his luck at finding Dollfies just wasn't there at the time)
(Note: All three were very encouraged by me to throw as many distractions into the posts when I decided to put them up as 74N4/Tana.... I thank all of my "Co-Conspirators" for quite a few laughs!! You guys ROCK!!)
A Big apology to Kodomut: Sir, you had it right on your first guess, I just replied as I did to keep the "guessing" as to who was Tana's Papa was for as long as possible. Thank you for playing along, sir!!
I do recall, a few days after I purchased her, someone posted a WTB for a DDII body....
I am so happy at this point, I went online to SQLabs and looked for her head....

After letting Poofiemus and Balldylox know about getting her body, poofie sent some awesome xmas cookies for a welcoming present......
SQLabs SQ07 "Tsubaki" head..... I was undecided between her and the "Misty" head..... I think I made the right choice, she has her own Character as it is.
Actually my second attempt, I had way too much coffee the first time and borked it really bad!!
Now, the final clear coat and putting in the "droid" eyes......

A bit darker than what she has now.... (I'll still keep them, they might be useful for when she gets "mad" eh?)

Heheh, congrats again on getting her all put together, and on a successful debut series! I'll admit that even being in on it I was eager to see what you were going to do with it. I'm still dying to find out what other adventures she gets into! :)
For a split second I was surprised to see you were considering swapping Tana's eyes with shifts in her mood, but then I remembered that SQ Lab heads are relatively easy to open and close, especially compared to pre-2011 DDs. Agatha's headcap even has notches cut into it on the inside so it's easier to open. (Her previous owner did it, if you're wondering.) And Nanoha's was quite a fight to open, so in comparison to either of my girls swapping Tana's eyes is probably a walk in the park!
Thanks! I'm glad that yours and Billys "Interaction" worked so well! Tana will still have more adventures, her, the "Crew" and Aebel still have a few "Getting to Know Everybody" posts forthcoming. Then a few local points of interest, like the Desert Museum and such, for interaction with the locals.
Her head is kinda interesting, being resin. the top is kinda loose, like a pan lid. I had to use a few small beads of Blu-tac as a "gasket" to keep it from popping off when I put her wig on!!
Heheh, it was fun, even though you didn't give me much to work with for my "photoshop" argument! Looking forward to her further adventures. :)
I've heard people have sometimes resorted to taping the SQ Labs heads shut. XD Other resin heads aren't like that--apparently many other companies use magnets to hold headcaps on, and others hook onto the elastic that runs through the body.

And Poofie and I were glad to get into our little faux fights on the Tana posts! We had way too much fun yelling at each other. Sorry to those people who thought we were actually arguing! All this was planned out way in advance so Poofie and I were in cahoots from the start! XD
Tana turned out really well sir, I'm happy you and her are getting along well. I can't wait to see more from you both!
You guys rocked!! And, yes, you and Poofie had a lot to do with me finally jumping on the bandwagon. Also, Wolf, scripple, Toel-Uru and so many others.
It's been just as fun thinking of what to do next as taking the pictures themselves....
When I get off the overtime and have more than one day in the weekend off, we'll try getting out for some local outdoor pics!!

(wallet screaming in the background) I think you might be right!! Not too sure about the "Sister" part yet, but I think the frills might happen.... She was originally going to be Tohya Miho from Megatokyo, but she developed so much of her own character along the way. Possibly, I think she'll "Cospre" as Tohya in the future...
Miho, the gothic girl! I can see Tana doing that... but if u put her in a frilly dress she'd be all "what is this?? Why am I wearing so much lace? How am I supposed to move in this?!?!?"

I'll definitely look forward to doing just that! I'll have some vacation days after the first of february, so maybe a meet up at the next Con-nichiwa in Tucson? Closer to you and Poofie would work also, like the next Phoenix Comic-con..
The girls and I have decided that you "punishment" is to continue the story from her perspective from where you left off for a few more posts... ^_-

The first post you made i really didn't figure it out, but after the second, i put 2 and 2 together. I knew you had been wanting to get one for awhile, and after the story started to unfold, it reminded me of your style of story telling.
It was fun to follow along!! I can't wait to see what antics she gets into in the future learning about our world!! :)
Welcome to the DD club, I hope figma Saber doesn't get too jealous. She seemed to be your #1 before. I look forward to more stories from you, hopefully w/o obviously out of character sniping between balldylox and poofiemus all over the comment sections. (Subtle? What's that? XD)
LOL! Thanks!! Nah, Saber and Tana seem to be getting along just fine. (Saber knows that she's still my #1 figure and happy to share Tana being the #1 Dollfie) Balldylox, Poofiemus and chise did such an awesome job of misdirection! I think that now, Tana and I can get more into the spirit of why she's here and what's in stock for us poor humans... *chuckle*
