Frank & Son Collectible Show is an event local to Los Angeles that is held twice-weekly (more often during the holidays for your gift-shopping convenience). It's an interesting mash-up of swap meet and convention, with no real limits to the various types of geek it serves! I've never really taken any pictures over there, but on a recent trip I happened to have my camera on me, so I figured, why not?

Usually go there to visit and see what they have. I consider it my little hidden gem :D
yeah, i like to browse when i get the chance.. some of the booths change so quick though.. i remember there was this one spot against the wall near tisinc99 that was selling nendos a while back and when i went on this last trip they weren't there anymore.. :<
oh yeah i saw those nendos. they had brs, dead master, snow miku and a couple of others for 25 bucks. me and my sis were going to get them but upon a closer inspection we decided not to because they seemed iffy and they looked fake. too many bad details and the box was kinda like "is that how the box is suppose to be like?"
really?? i saw some k-on and other ones there for like 45 each and they looked legit.. all the right hologram stickers and everything.. i remember trying to make sure b/c there are booths there that sell fakes.. the only reason i didn't buy was b/c they were too expensive.. good thing i didn't go for them!
lol...i kinda hate it when people sell fakes because it just makes me paranoid. i usually go there for fun to see if this one booth has anything new but they're so expensive in that booth. is by the east entrance where he has gundam sets and some figures. i know those are legit but other booths are kinda iffy
hmm, is that treasure island? they usually have those masterpiece transformers and that glass display case.. i've heard that they also occasionally sell bootlegs, although they will refund your money if you catch them doing it.. bootlegs suck but it's an unavoidable part of the hobby unfortunately
I think that's what its called. not sure, but I think it is. But that's good of them that they'll return your money if you catch them in the act.
I was just thinking, we should totally do a figure.fm meetup there one of these days! xD
omg we should totally do that! at least for all of the so cal people!!!! let's set it up soon!!!
yeah! maybe this coming weekend.. they have that nuke the fridge con, might be a good time to do it!
>.< sorry but i cant do it this weekend or the following week till after the 14th because i'll be studying for finals. sorry >.< maybe the 17th if not we can do something after the holidays
bawww.. :< i actually don't go that often b/c i never get there early enough for parking xD;; .. traffic is also terrible heading that way on wednesdays.. so after this weekend i prolly won't pop over until after the holidays/anime los angeles.. we should definitely do it tho!
Omg I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to suggest to go during a weekday because that's just horrible for everyone since the 60 is always congested. If not we can always try after the holidays but I do want to do this to meet other figure-fm-er fans xD
Ha ha, no worries. You mentioned the 14th so I thought you might want to go on a Wednesday. I know my friends sometimes like to go over there, grab a bite, check out Frank's, then go to like Round 1 to close out the night during the week. They are braver folks than I. xD;
But yeah, let's definitely meet up after the holidays when everything has calmed down a bit! ^^
