Help! Need tips about trip in Singapore

pic from the last time I was in a plane

Hi everyone~

Can someone help me? As I´m a anime fan and I hope to get tips from the same ppl as me. I know it´s somehow off and it´s not Japan but I will have a flight stop in Singapore and I know there are a strong jp anime fan community there.

Are there any suggestions of shop or locations that are related to anime I should visit?
Are there any maid cafe that I should visit?
Are there any somehow cheap hotel suggestion? (no hostels nor ones with shared bathroom, I`m shy... ( '-' ) )

Are there any food that I should try when I´m at Singapore? :3

And are there any point that any anime fan community meets? =D

I hope I will enjoy my staying at Singapore~

Shops related to anime, you can try out shops at China Square Central (china town area), especially on Sunday as there is a flea market. can try this site out for locations http://www.sgcollect.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=376&Itemid=43
(take note it is out-date, some shops have closed down or shift to another location.

Maid cafe in sg? I know there is 1 at Funan the IT mall (city hall area), as for its standard i got no comment. but there is also 2 shops selling anime related stuffs.

Food? maybe the Hainan chicken rice, chilli crab. but beware of those over-price in certain places. maybe can try find more information from here http://www.hungrygowhere.com/

As that pirate dude said, "Welcome to Singapore." Well, if you happen to be around Singapore on the 17th Dec, there will be an anime-related event going on called EOY (www.theeoy.com) which you should really visit. Plenty of doujin circles (yours truely), cosplayers and performers there.

So called because it's held on the end of the year? or because it's where the Yaoi stops?

I think it's the first reason. Because it has always traditionally been held towards the end of the year and is the very last anime-related event of the year locally. Not very imaginative but it works.

And you can never stop the yaoi.

    1. For a start you can visit,
    - POMO shopping center's KKnM
    - Sunshine Plaza just across the streets.
    - Then take a bus down to Funan IT Mall,
    - Liang Court for the Kinokuniyah there and
    - then Chinasquare like the above mentioned.

    2. Maid Cafe? Well there's only 1... and it's not fantastic... lol It's in Funan IT Mall. Maybe you can stop there for lunch.

    3. Cheap hotel, go google Hotel 81 or Holiday Inn Singapore, you should get something decent. SGD100 - 150

    4. Paper chicken, Chicken rice, satay, fried carrot cake(black), Chili crab with fried bun, ice kachang, gong cha, so many~

    5. Anime meets... hmm. on the 17th there's EOY and that is the end of the year event...

half an hour's walk across (afternoons only) is the Alice88th shop, that stocks a lot of costumes and select BJDs and 1/3rd-1/4th scale accessories. Seeing as it's a stopover anything you get will probably be a purchase or a order and delivery to your home rather than the rentals it normally does.

Singapore is pretty well-known as a food paradise! Get in touch with some of the local anime fans and I'm sure they will be happy to bring you around some of the local food haunts. Not those expensive ones but just as delicious and authentic!

Singapore has _plenty_ of food choices and cuisines; it is difficult to provide suggestions without more refined "search criteria".

If you want cheap local food, you can check out a hawker centre like Albert Hawker Centre which is near to Sunshine Plaza.
