Figma Reimu and Nendoroid Marisa Order Details

The results are in and these two figures will indeed see a limited release. However, while they are not 'limited edition' per say, they will only be available via pre-order on thesee Japan-only Online Stores: Animate, Gamers, Tora no Ana, and NicoNico Chokuhan tomorrow.

Time to bust out the Proxy!

It's kinda sad to see that Figma Reimu will be the only Touhou character released in the Figma line as personally, as many of you know, I'm more of a fan of figures that accurately portray the character than the cute but chibi Nendoroid counterparts. Oh well. (^.^)

Hmmm...maybe they think Touhou is popular only in Japan? What a bummer!

Figma Reimu is going to be the only Touhou figma? T_T But there's so much potential in the figma line for Touhou. Imagine a Aya, Youmu, or Flandre figma. All the pose ability and display options. Do hope someone higher up reconsiders based on Reimu's sells.

See they’re doing the Japanese store exclusive thing again. Zun must have agreed to license Touhou out in Japan only I expect. It's a shame because on an international site, these 2 figures have received a lot of hype and coverage. There is a market outside of Japan for these.

May be ZUN afraid if people outside Japan will think Touhou is regular anime character.
Remember what ZUN had said about Touhou Summer Day Dream doujin anime? He afraid if new fan will think if Touhou is an anime, not a doujinsoft. He then said to the circle to limit the distribution just like a doujin work would be.

And what ZUN had feared is happen, some people outside Japan saying if Touhou is an Anime, they don't know if the origin is a doujinsoft.

Although some people also accusing ZUN if he afraid his original game will be unrecognized and not selling well, but I can understand ZUN feeling.

BUT, of course, just like you, I was expecting Touhou Figma not only Reimu :D
And for God sake, why always limited >.<

      Wait, you're in Japan isn't?
Can I ask your help to order Reimu? XD

Yup, that and Zun has said that his games are just too difficult for Western gamers to really get into and enjoy. I got to admit that they are not the most accessible genre for the western masses but there is a small group of those who enjoy games that make you want to throw you laptop across the room. XD Personally, I just barely 1cc Normal with Touhou 6 and 12. Could not handle the lunatic settings like many of the Japanese can. They have a lot of those kinds of games in their arcades after all and are more used to them then westerners (not all).

Also read in a recent interview, that Zun had turned down foreign offers to sell his properties overseas. Many assumed this was concerning the games but maybe figures too. Probably just wants to keep Touhou from becoming too big. A lot of fans are that way too. Kind of see where they are coming from. If there was a mainstream anime, maybe folks would start to ignore the fan originated comics because they are not canon. My greatest fear if there was an anime produced. I like how the fanbase comes up with unique and unusual stories of the Touhou characters. Don't want to lose that.

As far as picking up Reimu Nendoroids/Figmas and Marisa Nendoroids. When I am not at sea, I am thinking this may be a possibility. I could sell for quite a bit cheaper then Tokyo Hunter/online dealers most likely. I saw 3 Reimus just before I went to sea in stores. Not too hard to get a hold of. Maybe I can help folks out via paypal but that's after I can be in Japan for longer then a week. lol

I sort of get it, but at the same time, it's a bit disappointing not seeing more Touhou Figmas.

          And it would be great if you can help me get Reimu as well. ^ ^;

From personal experience, Tokyo Hunter's prices are really expensive when compared to other proxy services. Why not try www.goody-japan.com? Their customer service is definitely the best I've ever had to deal with and their prices are among the lowest of all the proxy services I know of.
