Looking forward and backwards
New Years Day is a time for both looking forward and backwards. Ahead of us, we have the new year and all the possibilities that it brings. Behind us, we have the old year and all the blessings that we had. We learn from the past to make a brighter future.
Today was a bright and shiny day, the type of weather where even the worst of the semi-nocturnal creatures like me (No like big ball of fire in sky! Hurts! Burns!) can't resist going out at least a little bit. So, decided to take the theme of old and new and do a shoot with my two eldest DDs and throw in a bit of the new with new wigs that I just bought for them. I hope you enjoy and have a great new year!
First up is Zoe sporting a new purple look. She's had a lot of wig shifts over time but I think the shaggy type fits her personality quite well and the color really works on her, so this may be a long term change.

Next is Saber. I think she looks best in a blond/light brown color, though she looks great in about anything.

^^ And when isn't it a bright and shiny day perfect for taking pictures here?
I'm loving both of their styles so much! Zoe especially rocks that purple wig like well...a rock star! ^^ And Saber looks as sweet as always.
. . . the two days I chose to shoot Nanoha's intro. Go figure that when I decide I want to do a photostory happen to be the darkest days of Phoenix in 2011. >.<; (My blinds were wide open and still almost all the light you see in the shoot was artificial.)
ROFL.
That is some seriously bad luck.
I know, right? Good thing I have super-bright lights around for art reasons; otherwise I wouldn't have been able to shoot at all. Still lost tons to blurriness, but at least I got some out of it.
Was thinking about getting a photography umbrella but it falls in the collector's paradox. Me and Cryx were discussing this.
When you buy something to help you enjoy your dolls it prevents you from buying more so you'll have less to enjoy. ^^;; Well actually it made more sense with figures...but you get it.
Yup, totally know what you mean. Even if you say "no more dolls" there's still choices of whether to go for something like props, or clothes, or wigs, or shoes. . . Which of course can get totally derailed if a new girl comes out you *mus* have. XD Right now my priority though is "Make a dent in the fabric stash"; living so close to SAS Fabrics is starting to eat my drawer space.
I just bought a cheap static one a few weeks back. It definitely helps indoors.
Thanks. I think both of them work quite well.
Sunlight can be too harsh at times, especially between 10am-2pm best to avoid shooting outdoors.
Cute pics!
They're lookin' great! I agree, the purple looks great on Zoe, especially with her blue eyes. I'm liking this wig on Saber too, since it's got volume without being a complete poofball like the fur one.
Yeah. I like the fur one, but it's a bit much.
Very cool outfit! Alices Collections?
Yes and no. I bought it elsewhere, but looks like they carry it as well.
I think the purple works well for her.
She's very cute in Neris' outfit!
I'd say you're living in the wrong place if you fear the sun. :) I like Zoe's outfit, especially the boots.
This purple wig and dress style it strikes me as something Motoko Kusanagi in GITS might wear for a more adventurous outing.
You're right. It does have that look.
Both wigs look really great on your girls~
