Garage Kit: Zero (Code Geass)
Sun 2009/10/18 20:44 JST

Here's a quick look at the newest addition to my figure collection: a 1/7 scale garage kit of Zero (a.k.a. Lelouch vi Britannia) from Code Geass. This is only the second garage kit I've ever done (my first was Kallen) so I suppose there are plenty of imperfections, but I'm very pleased with my efforts and proud of the result. Alongside Kallen, Zero will always hold a special place in my collection. I hope you like him too!

Nice paint job!
But, I can't help but notice that Lulu's face here seems odd.
Thank you!
I like his face, though now that you mention it it does look a little strange in the photo.
it looks nearly flawless. but got to point out the face
Thanks. ^^
Now that people are mentioning it I do think the face looks weird in the photo, but I've got no problem with it "in the flesh" (or resin, as it were). Strange. Bad lighting/angle perhaps?
I think it looks great!
Thank you very much!
I'll wait for some more pics before final judgement on the face. I know from past experience that the face can look odd at certain angles and distances. Could be the photo again but also, was the gold paint overdone a little bit on the waist area? Contrast to the rest of the gold lining, which looks really well done and neat, the "V" area at the front of the waist looks like a lot of gold paint clumped together.
But I would be a little more worried about the small craters on the left elbow. Those need to be filled...
(sorry if all of this sounds a bit too critical)
Otherwise, the kit looks very solid and clean from a paintjob perspective.
Not too critical at all, I really appreciate the feedback!
To my eye the gold is fairly even all throughout. Perhaps lighting from below was unflattering in that regard (I was experimenting ^^;). I'm waiting on a new camera to arrive and it will surely need plenty of testing when it's done, so I'll try to add some more photos.
Again, thank you very much for your comment. I have a lot to learn about working on garage kits so it's great to hear from someone with more experience. I had a look at some of your work on your blog, you're very talented. ^^
Many thanks for the compliment. I'm still improving tho and there are lots of more talented people out there but what's important is that you're happy with your own work and try not to compare your works with others too harshly.
But it looks like you're well on your way. I think you will only get better as you do more kits so I look forward to seeing what else you can come up with.
You probably did 100x better the job i could do to painting anything... But Lelouch feels kinda weird without his cape and mask...
He looks very good, amazing for your second try!
This is amazing *o*
