Hi everyone,
Another year has passed, time is so fast. Have to say goodbye to the Cat year.
Happy Lunar New Year _ Welcome to The Dragon Year.

Today is the 2nd day of January in Lunar Calendar. In Vietnamese Culture, We call Lunar New Year is “ Tết” ( Japanese:“テト”_Teto). The first 3 days of Tet holidays are the most important days. On these days, Vietnamese people usually go to visit their relatives, friends, co-worker… (If you are the 1st person step in someone’s house, we call that action is “ xông đất” _and depend on your date of birth, which Zodiac animals you are… You may bring the host Lucks, happiness, wealth … XD). People also go travel, or go back to their hometown. Many activities will be held in these days and they really bring the up spring atmosphere. Because these days are very important days, so everyone will avoid bad things and usually let the feud go away and be nice to everybody else .

So here is some pictures I took the night before Lunar New Year and yesterday, Hope you guys enjoy them *(^.^)/*

This is a popular comedy show in Viet Nam on TV. It is only on air at the end of the Year. The show is about “Táo Quân”_ gods that live in the kitchen of the family, They will report to the King of heaven about the life and activities of people in the earth. In the show, those “Táo Quân” is separated in more general groups, like God of sport, God of Education, God of Economy… The show is really fun but also by using the show, we could see after a year, what will we need to improve, which problems have to be fixed … to make our life and the country better.

Yui decided to take some pictures with the Apricot blossom_ South Viet Nam’s symbolic spring flower.
Last year I hadn’t taken care of it in the right way so it didn’t bloomed well =.=”

In Tet holidays, Vietnamese young people usually play card game too :), and we usually play a card game named “Tiến Lên”_ it means “go forward” in English. This card game is similar to “Big Two”. Each one will have 13 cards, so max players is 4 people (but because we play for fun so more people can join as an supporters XD), who has used all 13 cards 1st is the winner.
2 >A> K> Q> J>10> 9> 8> 7> 6> 5> 4> 3.
♥ Heart> ♦ Diamond> ♣ Club> ♠ Spade.
You can use single card; pairs; 4 of King, Straight Flush; 3,4,5… -card hand. This card game is really interesting.

This is also an important food in Tet holidays too ^^, and I can say it’s really delicious :p
The white things look like small onions in the small bowl on the right corner at the bottom is called “Củ Kiệu”_ “pickled scallion heads” in English. It will be used with dried shrimp.
