Party of the Dragon
We're not big on the Chinese New Year over here usually, but since I was born in the year of the Dragon myself, it seemed appropriate for me and the girls to do something.
Nanoha: "Ah, hello Agatha."
Agatha: "Hey, um. You."
Agatha: "What on earth are you eating?"
Nanoha: "Oh, you mean this?"
Nanoha: "It's sashimi. Raw salmon."
Nanoha: "Where I was born, this was something people often ate to celebrate something."
Agatha: "I hate to say it, but you eat some weird food."
Nanoha: "Well, I know it's not for everyone, but there's no disputing tastes, right?"
Agatha: "Ah yes. Degustibus non est disputandum, I suppose."
Nanoha: "That's what I just said isn't it?"
Agatha: "After all, not everyone is enough of an epicure to appreciate this."
Nanoha: "I know degustibus and all that, but I'm still afraid to know what animal that came from."
Nanoha: "No! Bad Pancake! This isn't for you, even if it is the Year of the Dragon."
Agatha: "Wait, did you just say Year of the Dragon?"
Nanoha: "Well, yes I did. Why?"
Nanoha: "Wait, where did you come from, little one?"
Agatha: "Ugh. Just great. Having a whole year dedicated to them is going to flush them out of the woodwork."
Nanoha: "Who 'them'? The dragons? There can't be that many dragons around here."
Pancake: *SLURP*
Nanoha: "Bad Pancake! I can't believe you even ate the plate. We've got to work on discipline. . ."
Nanoha: "You've got to set an example for. . . these two?"
*HOP
Nanoha: "Um, okay, just make yourself comfortable there why don't you."
Agatha: "They wouldn't even consider coming here if Poof didn't feed them so often. Listen, I'm gonna go get a net or something. Use this to keep them occupied."
Nanoha: "Well, alright, but I think it'd be better if you brought my staff, Raising Heart."
Agatha: "Yeah, whatever."
Nanoha: "I can't say that even when one of my students was a dragon tamer that I ever had this happen before."
Agatha: "Well, I couldn't find a net, but I did manage to find this--"
Agatha: "Oh, come ON. Tell me you're kidding."
Nanoha: "Thanks for trying, but maybe you could get Poof? I think if she's been feeding them they may pay more attention to her."
Nanoha: "Though I guess feeding them didn't really help me, so that may be optimistic."
Nanoha: "And now I know that they call it 'dragon breath' for a reason."
Agatha: "Help from Poof? That basketcase? She'll probably want to KEEP them all!"
Nanoha: "Well, it's that or send them to my dragon trainer student Caro, and I get the feeling these guys aren't going to like getting teleported."
*THUD*
Poofiemus: Alright, that's the last one! Now we can start the Year of the Dragon PARTY!
Agatha: "I should have known."

Nanoha: "I sure hope you have an explanation for why there are so many dragons even though this is a non-magical world."
Agatha: "Just for the record, Poof, this is probably one of the stupidest things you've ever done. Besides making Pancake that is."
Everybody say "Cheese!"
Agatha: *SIGH.*
And I thought the Figmas and Mobips were a hand full... At least Maiya and Glenda keep them (mostly) under control...

Usually the dragons just go off and do their own thing, but when there's food afoot that all changes. Well, except for Pancake, he has to be around people all the time.
Hm, maybe. But it's not too many. You can never have too many dragons!

Thanks! I got tired of fighting to get her defaults to look blue, so I got some blanks from Pupa Paradise and made her new ones. It was tricky to keep them from falling into the same issues as the defaults, but now that I've nailed it I'm glad I did it.

Dragons usually aren't in obvious places, but you can find them; it just takes time. The white Beanie Baby dragon Magic I've had since I was in the third grade actually, while Pancake I think is the most recent of the bunch. I guess then keeping them is the hard part. . .
:3 Must find one, or make one. -10 degrees probably drives reptilian creatures away quite fast.
I like to draw dragons and there is one I would love to have as a plushie or a statue. Years ago I started to make a rigged woolly dragon for puppet animation but the wires went all the wrong way and it was left halfdone somewhere...
Say, did I ever link you to the pattern I used for Pancake? That'd be one way to get a dragon plush! It may also be worth looking up Folkmann's puppets; they've made dragons in the past and they always do a good job.
I've often kind of wondered how well wire would hold up being used for a stop-motion puppet. I know for the higher-end ones like for Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline they use custom-jointed armatures, but that doesn't mean that all puppets are that way.

Wire works quite poorly compared to custom jointed armatures but our school didn't have any of those and I didn't want to fiddle with clay. I'll send you a pm in DoA so you can take a look at my showreel. It has wired black woolly cat stop-motion animation in it.

Thanks! Though it cracks me up that Agatha is sexy when she's completely clueless about the fact. XD And thanks on Nanoha's eyes too; it was totally worth changing them as opposed to blasting her with every light in the house like I did before.
Oh, yass. Agatha really works that dress!! Too cute with all the dragons, I think it beats a park full of pigeons any day!! Nanoha just seems to take it all in stride, a perfect opposite to Agatha!
Heheh, thanks! It was totally worth the Volks click war for that outfit. I don't even have clothes in my own size as nicely made. I have to second Dragons > Pigeons, too. All pigeons are good for is startling to make them fly away, and pigeons in some places like Venice are too jaded to do even that much!
Yeah, I'm glad I ended up with Nanoha as my second. Since I haven't found a good match for Zeetha, Nanoha makes a fantastic substitute. Which, considering the ones who are left on my wishlist, may end up a good thing. While it's going to be another long gap between Nanoha and whoever ends up my third, the odds are very good I'll be glad to have a mediator. XD

Yeah, some of them involved flattening entire city blocks. XD Thankfully she's more level-headed than Agatha most of the time, but when she *does* get angry. . . egads.

Lol yes! I don't bother getting expensive clothes for myself because usually their quality isn't any better than the cheaper stuff. Now, if more expensive meant Volks quality, that'd be a totally different story.

Thanks! Agatha's pretty jaded by now, I'll admit. I think Nanoha's general collected-ness is probably because one of her favorite students in the past was a dragon trainer, so it wasn't until she started to realize how many there were that she started to get at all concerned.
