My W.I.P. Room

Posted by KP2008 [www]

When I posted my husband's hobby room, I was lamenting the fact that I did not really have a room for my things and that I was using the spare bedroom. After trying to share my husband's hobby room, we realized that there just wasn't much space for either of us to move around in it so we've officially made the spare bedroom into my office/hobby room. I decided to finally use the Ikea gift card I got from ordering our TV console a year and a half ago and bought myself a lovely table and chair. At first, the corner table looked huge in the room till we figured out it looked better against the spot it was on now. Its still a work in progress since I have to get a couple more things for it (like shelves and more figures ;P). But here are pictures of what someone teasingly said for me to call my room the 'Waifu' Room. ;D

The corner table that caused me a lot of grief as I did not realize it was 'huge' when I ordered it online. The stackable drawer has my sewing things (not that I've really had time lately to make anything).

Initially this and the corner table were supposed to be together as one unit but we couldn't fit it in properly because of the vent. I think it looks good where it is though. I know my kid thinks so since she's already claiming the space as her 'office'. LOL

I've taken a page from Danny's book and re-organized the closet. I didn't really want to buy new containers so made do with the ones I had and just put labels on them.

My stackable drawers, again inspired by Danny Choo. A place for everything and everything in its place. I only hope I can keep it organized. ;D

      Thanks. I like those wire shelves myself as they give lots of room for storage. Soon as I can get rid of that gigantic box in the corner I'll probably get more stackable drawers to put our other things in. Right now they're in the Hubby Room. ;P

      LOL. Me too as you can see. XP I find it drives me crazy when a room is messy. I know it drives my DH crazy when I try to extend my 'organizing' to his hobby room LOL. I'm sure my kid thinks so too. ;P

    I love minimalistic spaces so your room is really amazing to me! <3
    I wish I had my own sewing space. My sewing machine lives in a closet and everytime I wanna sew (quite frequently, almost every 3 days or so) I have to lug it out and set it up on the kitchen table. ^^;;

    There's a lovely down to earth feel to the room. Some scenic glass framed pictures would go nicely on those walls. Ones with a nice thin and smooth white painted wooden frame to match the skirting along the floor perhaps (not wanting to be too specific) :3

    One of those nice Ikea Detolf cabinets, with the brown wooden finish to its top and base, would look really nice as a display for your figures and match the room nicely.

      Oh what a lovely idea. A Detolf cabinet is just the thing, I agree. :D. Thank you for the suggestion.
