Papa brings home a package

Posted by Tana

Papa's been busy...

I mean really busy, getting up at 2:30 in the morning for work and not getting home 'til
nearly 5:00 in the afternoon type of busy.

Happily, I get a "Good Morning, Kiddo" when he gets up, He says goodbye before he leaves and
I always get a smile and a greeting from him when he comes home, even when he looks
like he's been drug through ten miles of Baboon Poo sometimes......

Mouseover = load notes.
Papa brings home a package

"There, this thing is finally clean!! Chemical powered, kinetic "Bullets", ballistic drop, sheesh! give me a good old fashioned line of sight mega-watt pulse rifle
any day!"

*click*

"Ah, Papa's home! I finished this just in time!"

Mouseover = load notes.
Papa brings home a package

Papa: "Heya, Kiddo, have fun today?"

"Nothing much, Papa, how was work?"

Papa: "Long day again, overtime for at least 4-6 more weeks. Oh, by the way, I picked up a package for you at the post office, it's over on the bed, go check it out."

"okay....."

Mouseover = load notes.
Papa brings home a package

"Wow! Looks like it's well wrapped!"

Papa: "Well, it came from across the continent, from Juu-Yuki over in Toronto, Canada. Lets get something to open it up and see what's in it."

"I have just the thing, Papa"...............

Mouseover = load notes.
Papa brings home a package

"Hmm, I think to minimize any damage to the contents, I should cut right along *here*"

Mouseover = load notes.
Papa brings home a package

"This should do the trick quite nicely!"

Papa: "Oh, right, I forgot about that..... *derp*"

Mouseover = load notes.
Papa brings home a package

"Everything is wrapped up in this strange plastic."

Papa: "It's called Bubble Wrap, Kiddo, go ahead and squeeze one."

"Um, Ok."............. *pop* giggle...... *pop, pop, pop* giggle, giggle............

(editors, note: This went on for quite a few minutes, it seems Tana hadn't played with bubble wrap before!! *chuckle*)

Mouseover = load notes.
Papa brings home a package

"How do I look, Papa?"

Papa: "Um, wow................"

"Papa, why are you holding a tissue to your nose?"

Papa: "Ub, nebber bind, leds see whad eldse you'd godden."

Mouseover = load notes.
Papa brings home a package

"Oh, it's a new camera! And the lens is removable, too!!"

Papa: " Now we can both go out and take pictures."

Mouseover = load notes.
Papa brings home a package

"Heh, "Smile" Papa!!"

*click, click*

Mouseover = load notes.
Papa brings home a package

"The glasses came with a cool little case and cleaning cloth, so they will be safe and clean. There were also some paint supplies. Papa wants to try another
Face-up when he feels more comfortable painting again."

Mouseover = load notes.
Papa brings home a package

"Thank you so very much for all the cool stuff, Juu-Yuki! I'll enjoy these a lot!"

    I guess those vision repairs you did for her were a little off eh? Still needs some corrective lenses. ^^

    So is she getting a new face up? Or are you getting another girl?

      Nah, her vision is just fine, they aren't "prescription" lenses.

      Um...... Can I plead the fifth on that right now? *chuckle*

    Nice goodies! :) The glasses are nice, but the fact that they come with a teeny case and a teeny cleaning cloth just *slays* me with cute. It's always good to see Tana, even if she does inadvertently remind Agatha that she still needs a death ray. XD

      They completely change her appearance, and the extra accessories just add to the cute.
      As far as a "Death Ray", I've been letting an idea percolate about hand-crafting a futuristic type of
      laser rifle. Now that I have a willing model to help with "scale", I think a few prototypes might show up
      in the near future... *note: don't let Agatha see this post or you'll get pestered about it!!*

        I know what you mean; trimming Agatha's bangs made quite a difference too. Oddly changing Nanoha's wig ended up with a more subtle effect even though the physical change was technically more drastic.

        Ooh, nice! See, for Agatha's death ray I'm really strongly considering 3D printing. Won't be cheap, but it'll be far lighter than anything I could do by hand for a similar detail level.

          I've been keeping up with quality 3D printers, home sized styles are actually getting
          less expensive lately. I've seen two different types going for under $1500, not
          "cheap" but getting into the realm of affordability. I think there's two different types of polymer used for the media, also, with a database of at least 15,000
          different patterns available. There's also polygon scanning software out there. Now
          it's just getting hold of some Sci-Fi weaponry pictures and going from there!

            Yeah, dropping a grand on a 3D printer for myself is a bit out of my price range, LOL. But there are 3D printing services. I'm leaning towards Shapeways, since they have a wide range of materials to choose from, reviews indicating good customer service, and this nifty shop system where you can make a model public for other people to buy if you think it turns out well. :)

            For the death ray I'm thinking of loosely basing it on the one that Agatha uses to blow up the bridge at Passholdt during the circus arc. There's just something about a BFG style death ray that appeals to me--hence the desire to make it hollow and light weight.

          Yep! Right now, it's just a matter of finding the time and looking for the links. I've figured out the "hidden" joint for her elbows, but doing the neck mod is one I need to do in the future.

            I agree, the neck mod really makes it easier for her head to move back farther so she can look up better. ALL of my girls have the neck mod done... and it's super easy to do too. An X-Acto knife or some small, sharp scissors is all you need! Seriously, it will take you less than 2 minutes and that's if you take your time. =3
