Cutsom Kiki Review
So, as some of you may know, a member of this site (the lovely DancingQueenDQ) makes Amigurumi plush by hand dolls and sells them in her etsy shop. I had the pleasure of not only having her makes me a doll, but also letting me choose who I wanted crafted into soft, huggable, goodness. After much deliberation I decided on Kiki from Kiki’s Delivery Service. Not only is this my favorite mover of all time, but I also have a thing for witches (especially those of the sand type. Haha, bad pun…) Anyway, I really feel there is a lack of good Kiki plushies out there, with the exception of her cat Jiji. DancingQueen’s creation filled that gap. My dream would be to one day have a Kiki MDD, but this definently satisfies that urge. So enough words, lets let my pictures do the talking!

Here she is. As you can see the knit is very even and tight. The stuffing itself is soft and fluffy, but still has enough body that it allows her to stand up on her own. The yarn used is the same. This allows for some "memory" with her limbs, allowing for different poses.

Here is the top. As you can see the little details are great. The bow is a great texture and can be posed as it holds its shape. Her hair is a diffent type of yarn, and has a much softer feel.

For scale she is about 35cm tall, or the size of an ugly doll. This is the perfect plush size. Portable yet huggable. Also nice, as she hangs out on my desk easily without getting in the way.

Being a witch, she really wanted to go out and fly around.

Not one to say no, I let her out to explore.

She made some new friends

But mostly just enjoied the weather.

I hate to assign a number to things in a review, but I will say this: Kiki met my expectations, and even went beyond them. Anything handmade is awesome, as just knowing the effort put into it makes it that much more special. This also adds a unique-ness that can't be matched by a machine or a company. As of now, this is the only Kiki ever made by DancingQueen, althout I'm sure she would make another if you wanted! That brings me to my final point, the creater herself. Dealing with the artist is a major part of the experience, and in this case, it was positive all around. Yes, the plush took some time (mainly due to my ordering Kiki right before the holiday season), but all good things should! DQ was good at keeping me updated all the way, and her manners left a good impression on me. I HIGHLY recomend visiting her shop and supporting a member of our toy community.

Cute! Really well made!
