Gundam markers

I bought this gundam marker a few weeks ago and have started panel lining my gundams...
I tried watching some videos in youtube about panel linings. And I read some comments saying it dries up after 15-30 seconds..
i tried touching the panel lines on my gundam that I did a few days ago and the panel lines came off...
Maybe there are fake gundam markers... Posted a few pics of my gundam marker.. It doesnt look any different from original gundam markers

having used these markers and from my experience, youll get some which last a good while and some which last for a few hours-few days. word of advice, use these markers for short small lines. but if youre planning to use them for the majority of the kit, be ready that it might die out early. If you have 1 which lasts, good on ya. and they dry very quick
ive probably gone through 20+ gundam markers since my time when starting my hobby as a model kit builder. as for fake gundam kits, i dont think there are any circulating and i dont think china has made any at all but who knows.
actually, i think china have made some fake gundams, check this site: http://walterhobby.com/store/#
I think Wolfman X meant fake Gundam marker.
China did make fake models. Theyre made by Bindi or Bandi lol
Sometimes it doesn't hold well in shallow grooves/lines.
Actually I think the ink never dries.
I can take a toothpick, go into the groove and 'rub' off the line anytime.
The thing is to seal it up with a coat of Topcoat or other plastic friendly clear coat spray.
dont worry your gundam marker is ok just like iron2000 said apply a top coat and problem resolved ;)
One more thing to add.
On plain unpainted plastic it seem to never really dry.
(The solvent dries but the pigment can be easily scraped off)
But on painted plastic or PVC, it dries and sticks to the surface.
Don't try to rub the paneled line on a gold plated kit, the gold will come off and surface becomes silver.
(Experienced on doing MG Hyaku Shiki)
Yep, what iron2000 is true, otherwise those Gunpla guides won't tell you that you can scratch off the excess ink after it dries up.
so lacquer thinner can do that eh, interesting...
Ive tried them on sanded pieces of the kit and it doesnt come off... It comes off on plain shiny pieces...
Ill try to use topcoat... Hope my gundam will look better ^_^
one thing that you can do is using a hobby knife to make deeper painel lines, i never tried but i hear that it make a huge diference
Yup another surface it sticks to is sanded surface.
Topcoat always makes your model look better ! I think the main reason ppl use it is to get rid of the shiny plastic look of the pieces. However, some people use a gloss (instead of a matte) finish on their models and it makes it look excellent. Just look at most of the Sinanju models out there.
You could try the 0.3 mm gundam pencil which rocksss cause its a pencil and it even more fine-tip then the fine tip gundam marker, also they dun come off so easily but its expensive tough $10 for the mechanical pencil only?
zzz do you really know how to do it ?
i suggest you go experiment these markers before brushing them off with your ignoramus opinion, otherwise other newbies will believe you.
Yes I know how to use them...
And thats why I made this post so that newbies who had the same problem would be able to know what the pros know.
Sure...
how yo use it

It's not gonna stay on if you don't seal it. If you are going to seal it, why not just do a water color was? It's cheaper and easier to clean up, not to mention more crisp than a marker.
I hate those thin ones... The thick, soft, bendy ones are much MUCH better...
I got experience with gundam markers....but because I'm a paranoid when it comes to mistakes, a only get a few. The markers for the panel lining must be of selected tip. There are brush types which are *%&^%*&^ sensitive so you gotta be careful. Although I dunno about the tips of each markers, word of advice: Be gentle. That I have learned the hard way.
I've read about these. From what I know, the blue markers are temporary they are water-based i think and can be rubbed off, but if you get the black ones, those are the permanent ones. I've been reading a lot coz I also wanna start serious gunpla modeling, not just OOB builds.
