Next Project 01 [Hazel Custom]

Posted by lires [www]

After timeless thinking & choosing of what model i should work on... I have made up my mind.. :) I think it's time i get my hand on RX-121-1 Gundam TR-1 [Hazel Custom] (HGUC). Customizing & painting this would really be fun! Any suggestions on the color scheme or should i retain the original colors? :)

Just a few runners but very detailed pieces. :)

Will be using water-slide decal instead of the stickers (stock). :) I hope for a nice weather. Too many storms here recently.. :(

oh man, i love my Hazel Custom so much. be sure to do a good job building it, breaks my heard to see people snap them together, when the AOZ series requires quite a bit of paint and small details to look accurate. dont custom paint it, the TTT have good taste in paint schemes, just be sure to get all those tiny little red and yellow details that the manual and box show.

this is one of my favorite HGs, and pretty much all HGs got a major boost in upgrade after this one (so it's a milestone). As AGerbil said, details are quite finite, and there really isn't much necessity for a major paint job... I have done Mk II color (standard), Original Gundam Color (painted), and then the Titan's Color Mk.II (original). Red and white might be a nice one too.

Panel lines alone would be sufficient for it. The original colour scheme looks nice already.

Of course, painting in the original colour scheme can enhance the look too. Not to mention the decals you have there would be a nice touch. XD

Knee-jerk suggestion ko: Titans Colors! :p

Honestly, though, the Hazel is good as-is. I got myself the Advanced Hazel some years back and mated that with a Hrududu (from Dengeki Hobby Magazine). Sadly, I broke the damn thing while re-doing it for the Primrose body conversion. I plan to rebuild it eventually, since I can't find any more Hazel Custom/Advanced Hazel kits here.

But one thing you can do is pick up some of the other HGUC kits like the Gundam MK-II--the backpack of the Mk-II can fit onto the Hazel and vice-versa, or so I've been told. Likewise, the "Earphone" vulcan guns of the MK-II can fit on the Hazel as well.

      :(

i wish i got the Hrududu(2 would be nice) and Primrose parts for mine, the standard version is kinda boring considering the expansion and modularity that the AOZ series had. they are so rare and expensive now, the last ones i saw went for $50 each...
