Day 2: Asakusa and Akiba
Started out the day freezing my tail off but ran inside a Denny's nearby Sensoji and had a nice breakfast while warming up. Never go to Denny's at home anymore but Japan is different. LOL. After it warmed up slightly, I went inside Sensoji and took a bunch of pics including the often overlooked Asakusa Jinja to the right of the main complex. There is also an inari shrine in the back which is awesome. The weather was very clear and I was able to get some really good pics this time because last year it was raining so the pics didn't look as good. After wandering a bit, I decided to head to Akiba for some fun and shopping. Really wanted to see Radio Kaikan and where the shops moved to. Quite a shock to see it in person but at least the shops are still around and I got a modest amount of loot. Went to Yodobashi for a late lunch and walked around quite a bit before heading back out to explore the streets a bit. Did manage to visit the GSC cafe but can't say I'm very impressed. It was nice but no WOW factor. The stores in the same building though were awesome and I got several items there. Finally, my feet said enough and I ended up eating at a Mos Burger in Asakusa. Love their burgers and always raise a toast to Youtuber Rodger Swan whenever I go to one. He has great videos on Youtube so check it out. Finally back at my room and checked my emails and videos for download before crashing. Jet lag is a pain. Heading over to Ikebukuro on Thursday so all Durarara fans rejoice. LOL

Only in Japan.

Love the buildings in Japan.

Looks like something out of a sci-fi movie happened. Saddest pic of the trip.

Lunch inside Yodobasi.

Tiger & Bunny relax while Blue Rose tries to switch the Cokes with Pepsi.

Blu-ray dvds for folk who like to ride trains. Unusual but I liked it.

Inside the GSC cafe.

Here's to you, Rodger Swan! Next time, its gonna be an Avocado Burger.

My loot of the day. Quite modest really.

Avocado burger please XD
Ahh! I know this place. Very nostalgic from when I used to play Aisp@ce
More like the Romulans engaged their cloaking device.
Definetly!
hard to decide? :3
Nope, I know what I like and its also happens to be inexpensive. Tuna, salmon, scallop and anago work fine for me.
I love the Change album art! <3 It's sooo sweet!
Salad for breaky? Dafuq?!
Japanese like their veggies. I ate it so as not to be rude and it was good.
good ol' mosburger, was the food there any good? I wasn't too fond of the name when I was there in July so decided to stay away from that place...
Very good. Everything is made fresh including the fries & rings.
Wow ! Beautiful !
Thanks.
So many beautiful pictures ! Thanks for sharing them . One day I'll go to Japan too !!! I hope so ...
Glad you're enjoying them. Hope they help motivate you for the big trip.
Me loves hotcakes! *O*
Me too although it takes getting used to them being so small.
In Holland we don't have them.. T_T
Now I understand your desire to leave Holland. A land without hotcakes is doomed. LOL
How I miss the Yodabashi food floor! I went a lot to the kastsu restaurant!! They even have katsu with Dutch Cheese ^O^ But my favorite one is the Chicken Katsu set filled with ham & cheese! ^O^
Haven't tried the katsu place yet. Is the food there served hot or room temp? I know they often eat katsu at room temp and I don't care for it.
The one I always take (chicken with ham cheese) is hot ^^ You must be careful not to burn your mouth because of the cheese ^^;;
Can't wait for your next post! ^O^
Thanks. Still got more exploring to do. Thinking of going to Yokohama on Friday if weather is good.
I like your photos and thanks for sharing them. I decided that I´m planning to visit Tokyo for the first time and have a great adventure like you did! ^^
Glad you like the pics and hope you have a great time in Tokyo.
Thanks. I´m planning to go this summer and I hope I can get all preparations ready for the trip.
