Oh, that thing? It's actually a 1/6 waist stand. XD Got it for $2 at my local hobby shop. It's not great by any means, partially due to how lightweight it is, but it's still a big help in preventing DD faceplants.

Hahah, in this shoot definitely! She does have a nurturing side too though, which hopefully I can bring out later. :) Oh, dude, YES, you need to get Tana out for an outdoor shoot! I don't think you've done one since her intro, so I'm really looking forward to it.

She does, doesn't she? Funny thing is, I hadn't originally planned to use the tiara with this outfit, but I had left it in her wig when I took it off her to sew her outfit, and after I finished and put the wig back on, it was like, "Zomg perfect!" XD

Nanoha looks as charming as ever. ^^ I like her carefree attitude which is quite the mood whiplash when compared to Agatha. But we love Agatha too! ^^

Yeah, I love Agatha, but it's really nice to have someone who balances her out. :) I hope to get around to doing a story with the both of them soon, just have to figure out a topic to get them started.

My goodness, Poofie! I loved this photoshoot. Where to start, the posing. It was so alive. She looked so cute and her new eyes give her a softer aura, IMO. I loved her dress and the additon of her gloves also says that she can be bad-ass too. And nice one on the dollstand. I saw those at my local hobby store and thought they wouldn't work but they do and I will be buying a few. $2 versus $32...Lol, $2 it is but eventually, I'd have to buy a real stand...:( But enough of my rambling....I enjoyed this shoot. Makes me want to dress up Fate as a fiary. Or an Angel.
Thank you so much! I'm glad to hear the posing worked out; as an animator good posing is pretty much the bread and butter of my career. Interesting way of describing her new eyes. I had thought they made her seem more direct, but I can see now how it's also softer compared to that distant look her defaults gave her.
On the stand, it's not great but does its job. Still, with the thigh stand, if you look close in some shots you'll see I added a twistie tie to the top to get a firmer grip on her thigh. I don't really need it with Agatha's DDDy thunder thighs, but on the DDII body it helps a bunch.
You should totally do it! Fate would make an adorable fairy, or an awesome angel. Say, you haven't posted any photos of Fate here on Figure.fm at all. Do you have some floating around elsewhere? I'd love to see them.
At the moment, I only have my cell phone camera. You'd think with a smart phone you'd get a smart camera but some of the pictures turned out ok. I think I can pick my best one on put on the DD thread on DoA. My orginal point and click camera has died off. >_>
Ah, alright. Usually cell phone cameras are tuned to take pictures of people and thus suck at macro shots like DD photography, so I can see why it'd be a fight to take pictures of Fate with it. Still, I'm looking forward to seeing one or two!
I've had a point and shoot die on me, too. Sadly it happened *while* I was Anime Expo in 08, so most of my shots were just black, and the few I was able to salvage were very pink--I guess the red sensor was the last one to go.

Thank you! I've been wanting to do a fairy outfit since I saw Salica's fairy Sakuno, but just couldn't manage it with Agatha. It didn't take long to get Nanoha to fill that void though. XD

Thanks! It ended up poofier than I expected, but somehow the one frill against that otherwise sleek silhouette totally works for her. I think I'll have to consider making another dropped-waist outfit for her, maybe a flapper dress.

This wig reminds me of Miyuki's wig. I like the taper in the back, very nice.
Oh, I can see some resemblance. Now that you mention it, Miyuki's bang cut is really cute; maybe I should mimic it slightly so Nanoha doesn't end up such a sheepdog.
Thank you very much! I sometimes worry that her bangs are too "form fitting" for her eyes and she may look odd. But most of the time i think she looks fine. nanoha could benefit from a small trim or adjustment but she still looks excellent in this wig.

Lol, even if he did, Grommit there got tons of treats that weekend from staying at my place without the other dogs around. XD He's so totally on a diet now. . .

Ha! Nope, though Pippen there does play with Grommit a lot. Still, for actual food they both go for easier prey: staring at my parents at mealtime.

Thank you! I'll admit, after sewing for Lady Picky Heterodyne, I was really surprised at how perfect this outfit ended up being for Nanoha. I was also not expecting adding the fairy wings and tiara to change the feel of the outfit so much, but they really do. Without, it seems like it's more of a retro movie star thing (especially if I get a more appropriate wig), but with the wings it's so totally a fairy it's almost weird to think of it another way!
Thanks. :) I still consider her default wig an option for her, but let's face it, pigtails with white ribbons don't go with everything. XD Her new eyes though, those are keepers. I don't think I could stand switching them out to anything else now! Especially with how easy they are to photograph.

Your Nanoha is sooooo lovely and cute. I never knew the Nanoha DD was this wonderful until seeing your pics. ^_^ I just love the dress on her, along with that wig, and those wonderful custom eyes. But because of where I love fairies, I have to say I loved her in fairy mode the best. XD I still can't get over how great those wings look on her even though it's just a butterfly on her back. You did a really great job fixing it right. The overall look is simply amazing and fantastic. :)

After sewing for Captain Picky--I mean, Agatha--I was surprised to find that Nanoha totally digs this dress, and the fairy gear too. I'm tempted to go get her a fingerwave bob wig now though, because it would really help the wingless version complete that retro movie star feel the way the tiara completes the fairy one.
