Day 03 - Tokyo Station and Ikebukuro
Decided I would go get my fave ramen at a shop in Ikebukuro and headed their via Tokyo Station. Place is really immense and the sheer amount of stores and restaurants is staggering. Bought a few goodies to bring back to the hotel and also had to exchange some more money too. It was a rainy day so being inside the Sunshine 60 building made sense and nothing beats hot ramen on a cold rainy day. Also had some Coldstone ice cream for dessert but don't care for how they measure everything out compared to back home where they just give you a bunch. Walked around the mall and visited a Uniqlo where I bought a long sleeve shirt and then popped into a Toys R Us to check out the latest stuff for kids of all ages. Had a coffee before going outside to see the rain had stopped and walked a little before going back to Akiba for a while. Plan on going back again as I have to have that ramen more than once and want to explore the area again. I also managed to meet up with comrade from here and we walked around and had some tempura in Asakusa which is very cool as its always nice to meet folks from here. Next stop: YOKOHAMA!

Just a small sample of what's inside Tokyo Station.

Love the decor.

Three years later and still not done but looking nice.

Ikebukuro!

First place I ever had real ramen.

Heaven serves bowls of this stuff every day I'm sure.

Super Sentai toilet paper for those minor emergencies.

Kept waiting for Celty to appear but didn't happen.

This is where the new GSC Cafe is. The got some great shops too.

Loot of the day.

Ramen look Delicious! Gotta check that place out if I ever get the chance to go to Japan again.
It will be worth your time I assure you.
Awesome to know!
Ha, ha, ha, Go Busters tp, too cool!
No doubt all the super villains stock up on it and use it to get revenge after they are defeated on TV. Just thinking what some of the weird ones could do makes me LMAO!
nice Niku mug :P
Had to get something to tide me over until my Niku nendo arrives. Seen the Yozora nendo here in several places but haven't decided whether to get it or not.
I remember seeing this place when I was there last year..
I would imagine the flying octopus does get your attention. LOL
Saw the K-on Movie here in December :3
I want to see it so bad! K-On is so popular and there are a ton of cute figures so I have to keep stopping myself from buying them. Going to Nakano tomorrow and the temptation is unreal.
I've seen a male version of Celty in Ikebukuro! And... believe it or not.. he was actually stopped by the police ^^;;;
Celty would NEVER be stopped. LOL
T__T So cute! I love her :3
Took me a while to find the one I wanted.
UNIQLO FTW! Every time I'm in Japan I gotta get some UNIQLO clothes.
Same here. Bought a long sleeve shirt to help me deal with the cold weather for 800 yen. Wanted some character stuff but they really only had One Piece stuff starting at 1500 yen and I didn't really see anything I liked.
Got myself some nice Mazinger Z t-shirts back in spring 2010 and my friend got some Retro Star Wars and Dragonball at the same UNIQLO. They had a deal on 3 t-shirts for 2000yen so we got a few. Would really like to buy their Warm clothes made of very thin and light material next time.
Got a couple of t-shirts last year with one being a Naruto design. Got a Dragonball one the year before that's falling apart the year before that.
Now *that* is what I want ramen to look like every time I have it. Perfect.
This place was the first place I ever tried real ramen and I always go back to them every trip. So damn good!
