Rena Sayers (Lilics)
Last night, as I was checking out a toy section in Machida, a sale tag caught my attention. So I went to investigate to discover, to my surprise, that the item on sale was a large Rena Sayers figure! Being a big fan of the Mai-Hime/Otome series, I couldn't help but buy her. ^^
I did have my reservations at first, wondering why the large mark down. There didn't seem to be any damage - apart from a lot of dust on the plastic cover, it looked perfectly OK. Of course, the figure could have been a badly-designed one that will make me regret getting it, but after noticing the distributor logo at the back, I thought, well it couldn't be that bad if that's the case. :P
So I unboxed her this morning, and am a satisfied owner. ^^ The figure isn't that detailed and is made of soft vinyl common in large figurines, instead of the usual PVC hard plastic. But at the bargain price, I'm not complaining, and am actually really, really happy for finding her!

Here's a pic of her, fully boxed, with the price tag. :D

The logo I mentioned above. ^^ I guess our good friend's advertising does make a difference.

Unpacking...

Not much detail, but beautifully done.

Rena Sayers, the legendary Otome!

No gem?? I wish they sculpted her with a gem on her ears.

Of course, everyone loves celebrities, and would like to get a picture with them. So here's a group pic. I really have to find a good transparent shelf, so I can unbox the celebrities. v(^^

Want to ask you something... did her head and neck are molded separately?
Yup! Her head's molded separately. I can see a seem between her neck and head. :)
Any particular reason you asked?
Actually, I'm planning to get her, or Mai, just for the head. Since the head might be able to be put on Obitsu doll body :P
Ah! I see! Hm... (getting ideas) ^^
Wow she's quite a big'un! Maybe add some paint on her since she was cheap anyway? ^^
Hm.. not a bad idea! It didn't occur to me to customize her - I'm not really good with paint, so I usually keep my figures as I bought them. What kind of design do you think would be good?
I have no idea, lol. I'd say follow some of what her anime counterpart looks like (I haven't seen it yet unfortunately ^^;).
At least "nail polish" for her toes? XD
her paint job is very bad. but at least it's cheap
Love that last pic, I want those figures T_T Yes, I see as Good Smile Company as a sign of confidence to buy the figure!
She looks lovely great get.I'm not really to picky about figures only if the paint looks bad or the face is off.
