Ninth Daughter-Dollfie Dream Airi’s Arrival~
I have been waiting for this day to come for the past 2 weeks or so, my 9th daughter, Dollfie Dream Airi has arrived at my residence today! The fact that she arrived today, just a day after I watched Queen’s Blade 2nd Season Episode 5, where she played a major role in the story is just extra special to me. I have always wanted to believe, despite the lack of screen time for Airi in Queen’s Blade Season 1 and Season 2 thus far, that she is more than just a life sucking assassin/ghostly maid, loyal servant to the Swamp Witch (I have yet to see this so call Swamp Witch to do anything evil by the way). Most of these items were acquired from Yahoo Japan Auction and I have decided to give ShoppingMallJapan a try because of their automated bidding system was quite appealing to me. Most of the bidding services I have looked at in the past required cash deposit, well it would be fine if I were to win the auction, but if I happened to lose the auction, my cash would get stuck in paypal, which isn’t exactly a cool thing to do. ShoppingMallJapan on the other hand, is able to take credit card authorization as a form of deposit, so I don’t have to worry about the win/lost scenario.
As usual, full scale images are available in my blog. It's difficult to appreciate Airi without seeing the full scale images.
Anyway, the biggest highlight of this shipment is no doubt my ninth daughter, Dollfie Dream Airi, let’s take a look at her~
Air’s skirt is so short that you can also peek into her pantsu with her standing upright. I will have to do a serious photo shoot for Airi some time soon. Since there hasn't been any Airi parent in figure.fm, so I figure I would show her off with a few quick shots. As I predicted, Airi is definitely a keeper!

Now that Airi has arrived, hehehe, I finally have the excuse to add some “intimate” moments in my Dollfie Dream Theater soon, but not yet, but definitely soon.
Let’s not forget there is also a Victorian style chair in this shipment, so let’s have Airi try it out for us~ Been wanting that to add a little bit more spice for indoor photos.
Not exactly a high quality product, and the shipping was a killer >.>; But it will serve its purpose, at least for now.
Ever since I spotted the Saber cloak in some Dollfie event coverage from Dannychoo.com, I have been wanting one for Saber so there, grabbed one as I was in the mood for auction priced item >.>;
Will definitely do more photo shoot for Saber and Airi in the not so distance future~
Next up is the T2 Art Work Collect 1 that was released in C76, I didn’t plan on buying this until I saw the review in Blue Blue Wave. I have always liked Tony’s work but I seldom have time to track down his work anymore, but that doesn’t mean I don’t care about it when I am presented with images like these!!

Not really a Hayate fan myself, but I have been fond of Hinagiku since season 1, this is just over the top goodness.

I want to do a photo shoot for Narika some time, but not right now, I wanted to finish up writing her story before doing a photo shoot for her; so if you are interested to see Narika in action, please visit blogsphere comrades Meronpan’s WAWAWA 忘れ物 and Tier’s Tentacle Armada. I really need to get my ass moving on finishing Narika’s arc in Beat Blade Haruka.
As for Excellen Browning’s dress set… . well I have always been fond of Excellen through playing Super Robot War Original Generation, though her Dollfie Dream rendition isn’t exactly to my liking so I decided to pick up her dress set so that I can have one of my daughters cosplay as her :P
Since I failed to acquire Dollfie Dream Natsuki through the fierce competitions of Volks’ Dollfie Dream Gathering open web order, this dress set will have to wait a bit before I have a suitable L bust model. Just put the USA lottery ticket, but even if I win I won't see Natsuki until next year >.>;

Maybe you can just purchase an L bust separately from Volks to use on one of your daughters so she can wear that outfit?
Perhaps someday, but not necessarily right now. I want to keep my M bust girl as M bust to minimize the number of loose parts I have.

The amount of goodness that came with the T2 Art Works Collect1 is well worth the 1260 yen! Though with auction deputy fee and shipping it will come out more like 40-50 USD. But still, it's super good!

I knew DD Airi was cute, but she's cuter than I actually thought. Not a huge fan of the maid outfit, but might have to keep an eye out for a split of her on Y!J along with the other girls I've been tracking. Oddly, I actually have shoes almost just like hers, only cream and with rhinestones on the buckles. (They're for my Halloween costume.)
That was what I thought at first as well, didn't think I would like her more based on the promotional pictures. Thus the importance of catching the right angle, it's very important to bring out the charm of the girl. I personally like the view with her holding her scythe behind her. Yeah, after seeing owner photos of several different dolls (yours included) I'm convinced Volks photography just sucks like a horseshoe. Almost every DD except Fate I've basically thought "meh" when I saw the promos, but fell in love later when I saw other peoples' pictures. This is especially the case with Nanoha, who I actually disliked when I saw Volks' original promo shots, and now she and Fate are just about tied at the top of my want list. Kind of annoying, really--I mean, isn't the point of promos to make the doll appealing?
I don't think they did a bad job for Airi, her promotional pic was pretty decent. Some of the other Dollfie though, didn't turn out as good.
Airi's promos were okay, but still not great. But then again, I've been looking at the promo shots by some of the resin companies as well, and while I'm not falling for nearly as many resin molds as I am DDs, their photos practically induce an eyegasm. Especially Soom. Oh my GOD, Soom's photos are amazing. They make me want to buy dolls I normally would have no interest in, like big guy dolls with bird feet. (Though there is one Soom doll I'd love to have even after getting over the eyegasm, and that's Cuprit. With her pretty horns and goat feet. . .)*ahem* Anyway, comparatively, Volks overall starts to look a little sad.

I just entered the lottery for Natsuki through the Volks USA website. It's my first time getting a doll via lottery (I got Yukino as my first daughter), so I'm anxious to find out the results.
Airi is a Queen's Blade girl, not too surprised that you never heard of her since Queen's Blade is hardly popular until this year.
Yeah waiting for Natsuki's lottery result myself, if it didn't work out then I will have to go for YJA.
I've heard of Queen's Blade (they've made a few Nendos for the series, right?), but it seems like the only series-related dolls I really see much of are the ones from Fate/Stay Night. I'm happy to see a new face on here!
How much do they usually inflate the prices on YJA? I adore Natsuki, but I'm not willing to pay much over her regular price.
When the doll is new and popular.. the inflation is huge.. It takes a while before the price comes down, and on the really popular dolls it never does come down.
I wonder who is going to be more popular, Moe or Natsuki.

Yeah Airi is buried somewhere in the Volks International site, it's difficult to find lol.
Don't pay anything over 20% markup, anywhere between 13-20% is what I consider "acceptable" markup fee.

That sounds acceptable, but my parents are actually getting me Natsuki as my Christmas present, so the last thing I'm going to do is ask for more money >< I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed and pray that I get her via the lottery.

Nooo, my Airi chan is my loyal french maid assassin! Yeah for over 2 years I have been wanting to know more about Airi ever since I acquired her figure as shown in my blog, I was happy to see QB getting animated but was disappointed that she didn't get any screen time. I was so glad when I saw the last episode of QB where Airi played a major role.

Argh, I know it's tough out there. The company I am working for is in decent shape but we are not in a hurry to hire machinist at the moment >.>; We do have a fairly extensively toolroom though since we do a lot of injection molding in house.

The furniture only costed 3500 yen but the shipping was like 7100 yen >.>; and with the deputy fee and what not it's was like $135... Yeah it should look more interesting to do photo shoot with the new chair now.

Worst case I look for a custom head and build a dollfie.
Getting standard release from Volks is the cheapest route, building a good custom is most likely going to cost more money than you think.
It might not be as bad if you decide to do the faceup yourself--that's where a lot of the markup on custom heads is. Unless you're like me and find that your DIY Dollfie idea balloons into an epic project that you're afraid to take on. . .
It's not exactly an easy thing to go DIY route if one wasn't already well versed in the art. My hands isn't steady enough to do it >:E
Yeah, I guess so. In my case, doing the faceup would be the *easy* part. ¬.¬ Yeah, if I were to pull that project off I'd need to learn to sew AND to make wigs. Oh, and how to make BFG-style steampunk deathrays, though that's looking easier than the sewing at this point. DIY can be dangerous in unprecedented ways! XD

Admittedly, I was more attracted to Saber in this post. That pose and robe really suit her. Also, I like how her hair is much neater then mine. Definitely plan on combing Saber's hair when I get home.
Also, that Tony Taka Hinagiku is very nice but I must say she's got must larger oppai then the anime. Looks nice so I'm won't complain. :3

Tony indeed took some artistic liberty with Hinagiku's bust size, but it's all for the greater good as his gorgeous art of her shows. ^^

She looks like a very nice Dollfie. Was quite surprised to see what they did with Airi in the latest Queen's Blade too, with that episode she's definitely the best character out of the Swamp Witch's three minions, very nice character evolution. First season saw her a bit as a shallow life sucking semi yuri sukebe assassin but this season she's become more serious, definitely went up in my esteem as well, then again scythe + maid outfit was always win.
Nice to see you got Tony C76 Collect 1 book and are enjoying it. It's a terrific book collecting Tony’s best illustration work from these past years.
It was definitely a pleasant surprise to see how they portrait-ed Airi, but I am not complaining! The evolution of her character is allowing me to form a better opinion of her and her role in the Dollfie Dream Theater!
