I figure I may as well post a few pictures of my setup at home. Alot of my stuff is still in boxes or downstairs so here are some pictures of my desk up in the loft. My apologies for the poor picture quality.

LED's from IKEA point upward from under the frosted glass desk under the monitor. My custom Core i7 machine is to the far left.

I just commented on your new monitor not too long ago! So jealous of your desk, but to be honest, I didn't know they were made like that! Looks like I'm gonna have to make a trip out there and not only get a detolf, but one of these types of desks as well!
The desk isnt from IKEA. I wanted a frosted glass desk but I also wanted an L desk. I got this one from Office Depot. The wallshelf above the desk is from IKEA though. :)
Yummy and clean room! Since I am a pretty big hardware geek may I ask what that computer has under the hood? Running an i7 as well. ^_^
Core i7 920 modest overclock to 3.2, ghz Asus P6T mainboard, 6 GB DDR 3 1600 triple channel (cas 8), Geforce GTX 275, 2 western digital black drives with 32MB cache 1 TB each in RAID 0. What about you?
Pretty similar. i7 920 to 4.03 GHz, Asus P6T Deluxe V2, 6 gb Corsair XMS 3 1600 MHZ C8, Geforce GTX 275, x2 Western Digital 300GB Velociraptors in RAID 0, Corsair HX 1000W PSU, Thermalright TRUE w/Scythe S-Flex fan, all inside a HAF 932 case. This setup is running x2 HP w2338h monitors. I really hope your i7 is a better overclocker than mine though. Despite it being a D0 it takes me 1.36v to hit 4.03 stable after LinX + Prime 95.
I had a set of Velocirapors but they failed after about 4 months of use. I took them back and got the black drives and a little store credit instead. I have not taken this machine past 3.8 but it could probobly take it. I am running an all copper Thermaltake V1, the thing looks kind of like an engine block from the side of the machine lol
Sorry let me complete my sentence "I have not taken this machine past 3.8 but it could probobly take it to 4 ghz"
/sigh. I hope my V-Raptors don't fail on me. Gorgeous setup too, I absolutely love the table/lighting! I am using a crappy wood table from Ikea atm. Isn't it uncomfortable for you though, with the metal leg brackets right there?
Actually becuause of the way the legs are shaped they dont get in the way at all. I was worried at first but once everything was put together I was pleasantly suprised.
Too much wires xD
I don't see a problem with those wires. In fact they seem pretty decent to me. Mine looks pretty messed up and nobody but me can figure them out. I guess it's the same amount of wires, but in a smaller area and they consist of the battery powered ones (UPS) and surge protected ones (also though UPS). On top of that there are USB and firewire cables, phone, DSL and TV cables. Router and switch are also in the middle of everything, making it look like a true cable nest.
I don't see problems with such a setup. I see a problem with wireless messing up with other wireless, but not with a lot of cables ^^
i like it :3 simple and cute

Where does that hole behind your monitor lead to? o.o
It leads downstairs. The celings in this house are very high around 12-14 ft.
Lucky you to have a hole between the floors. I'm still considering how to set up LAN. I don't have the luxury of a premade hole. I'm seriously considering going from the living room to the basement, across the house and then from the basement to the first floor. It's a lot of extra cable but the direct line seems impossible. Seems like nobody thought of a LAN when the house were built but I guess that's because it's so old that even TV signals were a thing of the future ^^;
There are several ways to setup your house for a LAN even if you do not have it prewired with cat 5 or 6 cable. If your house has coax and you have two routers that support MoCA you could bridge them together. That would give you two routers in seperate parts of the house without the need to run additional cable.
Oddly enough coax wasn't part of the plan in this house either. It was a mess just to get a phoneline and power with ground to the top floor >_<
I will think of something when I can no longer avoid setting up a LAN. There are a few options, but all of them includes drilling and stuff... oh well.
So neat, ah Izuna posters, good man.
