You paint some parts?
Nope...i did not paint any parts...just the crazy scribbling using some dry brush with Tamiya Titanium Silver on the frame :)
Quick question.. Why weather the inner frame and not the armor? Shouldn't it be the other way? xD
I don't dare to do it. This is my 2nd MG kit so I didn't want to do too much of experiment on it :)
That seems to be the case. The internal frame (especially the exposed frame) seem to have a weathered look, which is either a bad paint job, or a really good weathering job. However, I think that all of the colors (blue, white, yellow, etc.) should have similar weathering effects, to go with the weathered gray.
I think its neither. Just some random brushing to make it look metallic :)
Hmm it may look better if you show it in the skeleton mode. But in normal mode, it look weird with the weathering only apply to the inner frame =/
I totally agree with you. Hope that they sell the clear parts. So that I can get some frames exposed...:)
Is that weathering? I thought what I see is some failed top coat applying on the inner frame on a bad weather...
hahha...no no...no top coat..just some random brush stroke :)
Those look like scratches from sandpaper... or maybe im wrong...
Nope..its not from sandpaper...haha :) but its from some cheap 30cent brush which i used for many other things :)
Not to be mean or anything, but why in the world would you weather the dark grey parts and not anything else. Also, just some criticism, the weathering doesn't look realistic, it's sort of everywhere opposed to being in specified corners where the weathering really happens.
Hi All :D I am really happy to see that 2nd ever MG to have more than 1000 views :D. Thank you very much :)
Basically, I did nothing to this Exia. Just made the inner frame metallic looking. I did not want to weather everything though. In fact the whole frame is "weather" in an improper way just to give the metallic feel. And I did not use any top coat too. Just panel lining and my first time trying to make the frame metallic looking :)
Please visit my blog here http://g-tyro.blogspot.com/2009/10/mg-exia-wip-i-have-one-too.html. The link will take you to just the weathered inner frame :)
You overdid that "metallic look" and the kit looks weathered even though it's not what you were aiming for.. Next time try to lighten up on what you did with the frame, about a quarter of what you did here.
Yep. I will do that next time :) My friend who is a Gundam hobbyist as well told me the same thing. I still have a MG Strike IWSP and shall try it next time (lol...i expect some time next year cos work is getting busy...)...
Please visit my blog ya....arein...is there any ways to get onto your blog roll ?
Just add me in your blogroll and we're all good.. ;D
Added you :)
A lot of critics in here >.> Though I admit the weathering is weird I'll leave it at that. Your Exia looks fantastic! :) Wish I even had one xD
Hey roy, Go get one :D it will be fun to build especially exia !!! same question...any ways to get onto your blog roll ?
To each his own I say! nice work dude!
Thanks :) Will be doing more kits in time to come :)
I really like the way you painted the inner frame. It would actually compliment the Repair mode very well.
Hmm...why didn't i think of it ya !!! great idea :D
hey. i would like to know when u try to pose out ur GN-Sword, will ur hand fall coz the sword is too heavy?
not really the joint on the arms is pretty tight :)
