Mirai pumpkin fan art

I'm actually not sure if we're supposed to carve the pumpkins so early but since we're busy on Halloween weekend, I thought I should do it this week before it gets too late ^^;
I had a few ideas, worked on the smaller one last nite and today I finished the 2nd pumpkin, which is the Mirai Suenaga version on the larger pumpkin which my husband picked ^o^!

When I tried this, I ended up with a Charlie Brown pumpkin with crooked eyes and stuff.
I must say it's rather hard work carving these things :P Have to hold on to the pumpkin's weight and make sure the knife/saw doesn't slip and cut something off ^^;

Woah, sweet work Chun! And only a couple hours each? That's really good! And now I'm tempted to do one for halloween as well! I've never carved an intricate design like that before.
The proper carving tools must help a lot!
actually a lot of it on the Mirai one was done with the fruit knife lol, esp the skin and hair highlights. The 2 sawing tools were kinda bent after using for a while, but those are pretty good for making the bigger holes ^^ Having done the first one helped a lot with the 2nd :P
Wow, nice job. We need some advanced alien technology now to conserve them for later generations! Throwing them away is a No-No!

haha! Apparently the longest we can keep them for is around 5-7 days? ^^; would be nice if there's a way to preserve them ^^; and yes there is pumpkin carving kits :) I heard about them from a friend a few years back lol!
