Shin Musha Gundam

Shin Musha Gundam painted with a marble style using blues over a black base. The gold tubes were painted with alclad metallic paints. The weapons were painted to look like wood.

Stunningly good paintwork. Really amazing, from perfect wood effect to the intricate blue/black patterns. Wow. 0_0
Really nice! I can't imagine how you achieved that marble look. The weapons look really cool painted as wood.
The weapons are definitely the highlight of your build, they're absolutely fantastic. How did you go about doing the marble painting?
Marbling style is GREAT! O this thing! O for Outstanding!
Thanks guys! The marbling was done with a sponge. First a layer of gloss black was painted. Next I stamped on two different shades of blue. The whole process is documented here: http://gamerabaenre.com/shin_musha_prog.htm
Also included is the process for painting the wood grain. Hopefully it'll help anyone who wants to paint wood grain.
Your method is ART!
very nice work! love the wooden finish!
The woody weapons! OMGoddess!
Love the wood effect!! Cool!
Love the dragon looking logo on its armor! The wood effect is awesome!!
The marbling and wood graining effects are superb!
Marble effect and the fine wood finish on the weapons ... Classy~~~
again, i'm just going tsundere as gundam artist here :D *is jealous
-some of your paint seem chipped off on right shoulder, right arm, left arm, leg and waist
- you didn't paint the back of shin musha... face guard (how do you spell those samurai like armor ears?)
btw, those chipped off paint... was it in purpose to blend with blue & black marbles?
i almost thought those reds are decal or something before i remember what is the original color of it LOL
The exposed red happened when I was lightly sanding down the surface of the kit after each stamping session. I'm just overly lazy and didn't want to reapply paint to cover the red :) Yeah, I think I missed those little face ears as well. Good eyes!
Wow, the wood effect is stunning, still in awe about the blue marble pattern =3
Hi,this is what they call "art for art sake", and, if I may, I want to know how do you make this marble style (the website you posted doesn't show):
1. after airbrushing the gloss black, did you just use a small sponge soaked with blue color to "touch-up" the area?
2. did you do the sanding or polishing after the second layer blue is sponged on the area to make it gloss?
thank you so much
your new gouf custom looks great, by the way.
