Wolfheinrich's room
Nickname: Wolfheinrich
Age: 36
How many years have you been an otaku: Now that's a tricky question, I was not aware of myself becoming an otaku when I was still very young, the series that pushed me over the edge was Golden Lightan, so that put it at roughly 26 years.
Nationality: Naturalized American Citizen (Chinese)
Outline of my collection: Mostly anime figurines, Gunpla, DVDs, CDs and most recently Dollfie Dream
How much your collection cost: About $20000 USD on my figurine collection, probably $25000 USD overall.
My Favorite Item: Dollfie Dream Dynamite Escalayer

I have been a lone wolf otaku for many years since none of my off-line friends are otaku by nature, I stumbled upon Dannychoo.com by total accident and I have been making quite a few friends since then. Ever since I have become a regular visitor here and I have learned how to communicate with other otaku through blogging, something I have never attempted before.
I enjoy my otaku life style very much and at the same time, I also want to work hard and be a contributing member of the society, I worked very hard to develop my career and I want to help prove that otaku can be a very productive member of the society.

wooohooooo,
so much otaku stuff ^,^
Like your Dollfies *jealous stare* ^^
The dollfie are punching a huge hole in my saving account :s
碇司令のポース~! XD
XDD
big collection. Love your daughters :p
Gendo pose? xd
Well I want to take advantage of the way I arrange my desk and Gendo pose seems most appropriate since I am sitting at my command center!
Nice room and pose!
Thanks ^^; I should thank you for providing a place for me to hang out with fellow otaku.
Yeah good room =)
But the plastified armory looks not pretty nice :p
Hmmm Logitech Z-5500 :P
Plastified? You mean my dust shield +1? My room has to be low maintenance, functional and effective, perhaps it doesn't look as good as displaying my collection in open air, but I am proud of my invention.
your room is awesome, very impressive collection!
dust shield +1 FTW
Amen brother, few people appreciate the effectiveness of my dust shield +1 ^^;
Is that a Rei as Eva 01 figure? Looks really neat!
I love the Anime merch, particularly the bedding, cushions and wall scrolls... Need to get me some of those!
Right, that's a Rei in EVA 01 suit.
Never saw that one before, which company was it made by?
Ah sorry missed your comment here, it's a painted resin figure that was sold some years ago.
That's a lot of stuff! I need dust shielded racks for my figures. I've got my eye on a glass stand from ikea now though... I hate having to dust my figures off, it seems they are absolute magnets for the stuff.
Dust is a universal problem for collectors in general, the only way to effective get rid of dust to either have nothing or seal off the air circulation.
i installed some acrylic doors to my cabinet to keep the dust away. quite effective too.
Oh I am sure acrylic door can achieve the same effect ^^; I just used whatever that was available to me at the time and it became a de facto standard soon after.
That is just an immense amount of stuff man... awesome.
One of my childhood obsession, I wasn't allowed to buy things for myself when I was young so I made it a point that I would buy as many things as possible once I have my career established, no complaint now right?!! :3
lol me too, I couldn't get the toys I wanted as a kid T_T
I started buying many things right away when I got my first part time job XD
I still got complain once in a while! But I just don't have to care anymore!
Mmm... Z5500. I <3 my setup, got a ton of complaints about the sub when I was in college. Though a bit sad that you don't have it set up properly (acoustically). Center channel is to left of the left channel! XD
Well I used to have the center speaker sitting on top of the PS3 but later on I realize I actually face the monitor quite a bit so I relocated it to be on top of my monitor.
Hehe, it's all about having the wide enough spread for the front speakers. Need to have good separation between left, right, and center (and the right order, too)!
I've been using my set in the living room the past couple of years. Works quite well for a living room surround system, especially since I don't really have much place for a big receiver.
Well acoustic has never been my strength! I wish I could spread out more but as you can see, I am as far spread out as possible already!
surround sound system? Nice room !
One of the many advantages of my command center setup is to have a proper surround sound speakers setup.
i need some tissues if i'm walking in your room.. to clean up the nosebleeds..
Perhaps you would like a closer view of my secret display cabinet?
Woo~ Quite a large sum of money spent on those figures.
Gundams spotted! Seems like you're a veteran Gunpla collector too.
Gunpla vet huh, interesting thought, it is true that I haven't had time to build any gunpla in recent time. I have another cabinet off to the side that I display area, it's incredibly hard to spot them nowadays and I don't have enough photos to show them off here.
Wow! Most impressive room I've seen so far. Not only because of the focus on Bishoujo merchandise (Gunpla too) but because of the presentation. Everything is so neat and well presented in those lit cases.
Lots of figures I want. 3 of which are on my shopping list for when I get back to Japan. Hopefully when I get my own place, I can make a room dedicated to my Otaku habits similar to this one.
Thanks punynari ;3 It took me literally 4 months on/off to clean up my room enough to take proper photos lol. My display cabinet of choice is Ikea Billy, that choice comes with the ability to adjust shelving as needed, and along with my dust shield +1, it's as close to air tight as one can get; but the short coming is the lack of ambient light but I improved on that short coming by installing Ikea Dioder along with a remote switch so I can turn on/off the lighting at my command center at will.
Nice, I never realized you got so much stuff. I've only seen the two main display units before...or so I think. I love the presentation. I didn't know you had a White Base and GP03, I'm envious.
Umm, partly because I never quite took photo of my room this way before, I have avoided doing that until I got everything in the shelving unit organized. I have always had the White Base and GP03, but so far no one had noticed that little Enterprise sitting on top of the White Base ;_;
Wow, such a cool room.
Also Manchester United fan? *high five*
*High five*
Wow six dolls in the glass cabinets. Isn't that a little bit wasted potential?? - Look who's talking I myself have too much stuff on too less room.
The lights in the cases are quite nice.
I for myself passed on lights (I fear the heat could damage my loved ones)!!
Any figures who got stored in the glass display are actually 2nd class citizen.... so they have less favorable treatment.
Nice room ^_^
Im so jealous about your Nanoha and Fate Dollfie
Wish I had them also
maybe in the future
I had a question tough: Why do you have plastic on your cabinets?
May be it's not a common product besides the USA, but those "plastic" is a 3M brand product designed to seal cold air out during winter time, called the "Window Insulator Kit". I combine it with my display cases with a little self mod, double layered velco straps and call it the removable dust shield +1. It can be applied to any bookcases, perfect for those who prefer adjustable height display cabinet.
Ero ero figures spotted!!
:3 It's not called the secret display cabinet for no reason, look closely and you shall find what you seek!
I'd so like one of those DD Saber Dolfies. I'm real impressed with your collection of figures..
Going to be updating my room pictures in a day or two. Added some shelves and switched the location of another.
Like I told many comrades here, Dollfie will keep multiplying until you are broke ^^; but they sure are cute.
Gendou?? Hmmm... somehow I don't remember other parts of your rooms except for the shelves and the computer. I haven't seen it in a while, I guess ^^;
That's because I never showed the entire room to anyone before! I have been working away at reorganizing my room since the march giveaway, so after 4 months literally, I can finally show every corner of my room.
Ah I see ^^ So now it's all out in the open XD
Not everything, there also my collection of DVDs and Gunpla that are hidden behind Feena and Haruki inside the in wall closet, with only 10 photos it's impossible to show them off here.
wow. so much anime stuff. i need some wall scrolls for my room. where did you get yours from?
Wall scroll isn't as popular as they used to be these days. There is a place call http://www.gkworld.com and they still have a fairly large selection of them around, good luck.
you made me speechless, awesome room.
Thanks yamada ;3
Great room commander Ikari!! It's very clean and organized but still feels very cozy.
Thanks hehe :3 I am a highly visual type person, I don't like not being able to see everything. And that's why I am arranged my room the way I did. It's packed but I can see *almost* everything in one spot - namely my command center!
insane room. i am loving all the monitors you have in there.
I don't know if I would call it an insane room as I didn't even make the cut for the previous giveaway, but it is what it is and it is my room and command center :D
Love the 'dust shield +1'! ^^;
What are you actually using for it? You mentioned "Window Insulator Kit", can I find those in any old DIY store?
While we're on the topic of anti-dust, does anyone know whats good for sealing the gaps in Ikea Detolfs?
Most hardware stores in the US carry it during winter time, it's original purpose is to seal window after all. But I observed it's sealing properties and used it to seal my display cases of dust instead of cold air. On the subject of Detolf, there is another DC member here who came up with the idea of using weather sealing form http://www.figure.fm/post/en/283/Syaoran+s+Room.html
Good luck in your dust sealing attempt!
Wow nice collection! I've actually seen yours before when a friend of mine who was in your Final Fantasy guild referred me to your site a few months back! =D
Ohh hahaha, thanks. I still play FFXI weekly ;)
good to hear, I had to quit because it sucked too much time XD I ended my career with a lvl60 RDM taru. I never could experience what the end game parties were like. Oh by the way, the friend that referred me to your site went by the character name "Crizum" I think he was a lvl75 WAR
Lovely room! The lights in the shelves, do they not heat the figures up or anything of the sort? What type of lights are they, if I may ask?
Quite a few posters, lolols certainly more than me XD You resemble a cousin of mine a lot.. **random**
Thank you, those Ikea LED strips draw very little power and therefore don't generate meaningful heat.
Sweet looking pad ! Is that dynasty warriors gundam 2 ?
Who is this? Looks so nice
Can you post a closer look photo?
White Base <3
es Asakura
what's this o.o ?
