How many years have you been an otaku: Now that's a tricky question, I was not aware of myself becoming an otaku when I was still very young, the series that pushed me over the edge was Golden Lightan, so that put it at roughly 26 years.
Nationality: Naturalized American Citizen (Chinese)
Outline of my collection: Mostly anime figurines, Gunpla, DVDs, CDs and most recently Dollfie Dream
How much your collection cost: About $20000 USD on my figurine collection, probably $25000 USD overall.
My Favorite Item: Dollfie Dream Dynamite Escalayer
Your website address: http://www.wolfheinrich.com

Additional photos can be found in my flickr site:

I have been a lone wolf otaku for many years since none of my off-line friends are otaku by nature, I stumbled upon Dannychoo.com by total accident and I have been making quite a few friends since then. Ever since I have become a regular visitor here and I have learned how to communicate with other otaku through blogging, something I have never attempted before.

I enjoy my otaku life style very much and at the same time, I also want to work hard and be a contributing member of the society, I worked very hard to develop my career and I want to help prove that otaku can be a very productive member of the society.

Plastified? You mean my dust shield +1? My room has to be low maintenance, functional and effective, perhaps it doesn't look as good as displaying my collection in open air, but I am proud of my invention.

Dust is a universal problem for collectors in general, the only way to effective get rid of dust to either have nothing or seal off the air circulation.

Hehe, it's all about having the wide enough spread for the front speakers. Need to have good separation between left, right, and center (and the right order, too)!

I've been using my set in the living room the past couple of years. Works quite well for a living room surround system, especially since I don't really have much place for a big receiver.

Wow! Most impressive room I've seen so far. Not only because of the focus on Bishoujo merchandise (Gunpla too) but because of the presentation. Everything is so neat and well presented in those lit cases.

Lots of figures I want. 3 of which are on my shopping list for when I get back to Japan. Hopefully when I get my own place, I can make a room dedicated to my Otaku habits similar to this one.

Thanks punynari ;3 It took me literally 4 months on/off to clean up my room enough to take proper photos lol. My display cabinet of choice is Ikea Billy, that choice comes with the ability to adjust shelving as needed, and along with my dust shield +1, it's as close to air tight as one can get; but the short coming is the lack of ambient light but I improved on that short coming by installing Ikea Dioder along with a remote switch so I can turn on/off the lighting at my command center at will.

May be it's not a common product besides the USA, but those "plastic" is a 3M brand product designed to seal cold air out during winter time, called the "Window Insulator Kit". I combine it with my display cases with a little self mod, double layered velco straps and call it the removable dust shield +1. It can be applied to any bookcases, perfect for those who prefer adjustable height display cabinet.

What are you actually using for it? You mentioned "Window Insulator Kit", can I find those in any old DIY store?

Most hardware stores in the US carry it during winter time, it's original purpose is to seal window after all. But I observed it's sealing properties and used it to seal my display cases of dust instead of cold air. On the subject of Detolf, there is another DC member here who came up with the idea of using weather sealing form http://www.figure.fm/post/en/283/Syaoran+s+Room.html

Good luck in your dust sealing attempt!
