Nintendo announces DSi LL
Almost exactly one year since the DSi was released in Japan, Nintendo have announced a new version of the console: the DSi LL. This is the fourth version of the DS, and its selling point is its large screen. At 4.2 inches, the LL's screen is a full inch larger than the regular DSI, and 1.2 inches larger than the screen on the DS Lite. Of course, a larger screen means that the console itself is larger than its older brothers, but they've managed to use the extra size to increase battery life (compared to the DSi... it's still not as long as the DS Lite).

The DSi LL will be released in Japan on November 21 for ¥20,000, and will come in three colours: Dark Brown, Natural White and Wine Red.
What do you think of this? Are you mad because you've only had your DSi for a few months? Will you be upgrading from an existing DS or do you prefer a more pocketable size?
It's targeted for the elderly, so I don't feel any pain like I did when the DSi came out a few months after I bought my DS Lite.
I might get it since I was thinking of getting a DSi while I'm in Japan anyway. I still have my old original DS, and it's looking a bit battered by this point. I don't think much of the colour selection, though. I don't like brown, I'd prefer a brighter red (or at least one that doesn't look like drying blood), and the white will just get dirty. I hope they bring it out in black or dark blue at some point at well. I might just get one of the current DSi instead, especially since it's cheaper anyway.

I agree! I'm a little worried about resolution, though.
maybe they did it so we can play games like love plus and that loli witch catching game(forgot name, includes lots of touching the lolis) with a better rez LOL
Yea, hopefully the resolution is upped with the new screens. No point in having a bigger screen without making things look nicer.
I am quite happy with my DS Lite.... don't feel the need for all the stuff they added for the DSi. Battery life is more important to me -- I always forget to keep my DS charged until it dies. XD;
Thank got i didn't bought the DSi when it came out...now i can have the choice to get either one of them....
I didn't get a DSi because I didn't think there was enough of an upgrade from the DS Lite. If the only upgrade that the DSi LL has is a bigger screen and battery life, then I don't think I'll get this either. The color selection is kinda drab, but I do like the brown. Also the ¥20,000 price tag is kinda steep when I have all these figurines to buy... (>_>)
Not a gamer, but I think this is kind of pointless. The only thing new is bigger screen, size and battery life... doesn't sound so great, although the red is kind of cute.
