MG DOM ver DC23
Ello guys, I am new here and this is my entry for the Bandai World Gunpla Competition under the freestyle category. This is my 2nd Dom build, the first one being the Rick Dom about to be slashed by my Hi Nu...Thus, being my 2nd Dom build, I wanted to do something different with this Dom. The personal objective is to try to outdo myself and create something that would make my previous modded works look OOTB, I mean to put it in simple words, the objective is to overdetail this Dom that I have not done before. The concept aligning to the objective is...to create a lowtech -alien looking Dom that would contradict the general look of what Gundam kits should look like ( I mean, exposed internals and wires all over are not coventional stuff anyways, some forumers even told me that wires over the armor parts would be critical for the mech during fights. But basically, that's the point, I create and mod gunpla at the same time think of the norms of how a mech of this size should function...but with this build, most norms were disregarded. This build is roughly done in a span of 1 1/2 months...actually maybe a bit less, coz I got distracted with Transformers toys for a couple of weeks in the middle of the build. :D
Anyways, aside from naming this build as a simple ver DC23...I added ver Zero G, simply coz the Zero G members suggested all sorts of helpful criticisms and suggestions during the build ( I have a WIP of this Dom in Zero G )...Thanks once again Zero G modellers!!!
All C&Cs are welcome...hope you guys enjoy the pics!!!

I wish Bandai creates more MGs from Gundam Wing Custom.

it's Greebles galore!!! I like it XD
Thanks buddy! I tend to over-detail gunpla. :)
HOLY dom... lol
that thing looks epic
have you thought about adding a lance, axe or broadsword to the guy?
for some reason i think the heat rod just doesnt hold up to the rest of the epic-ness
hehe, I like the idea of the lance or broadsword...but I sold the kit to a regular client already.thanks for the visit man! :)
I love the idea of the press needle, not too much about the armour plating, it makes the dom look kinda huge and fortress like.
Thanks man!:)
by any chance you might be a member in Zero G forum? i remember seeing both of your work posted there as well... btw that DOM is EPIC!!
Thanks bro! yeap, a very active member of Zero G actually and I have WIPS of this build at Zero G also. hehe :)
Heres the link of the WIP: http://z3.invisionfree.com/Zero_G/index.php?showtopic=5974&st=0&hl=
OMG..what is this?.. how do you do all the detail.. this is extremely awesome.. those detail can match the most expensive millennium falcon toys.. you are man..
thanks man! I use .3mm, .5mm and 1mm pla plates and some pla rods and tubes for the details.thanks man!:)
astig! \m/
Thanks kabayan! :)
holy sun'uv'a....
now that's what i called detailing to the max...
btw, is it possable/ durable enough to be played?
hehe, thanks man! It's not that poseable and definitely not playable man...lots of pointy details that can be easily broken. :)
amazing details!! 0.0
Hmm,the thingy on his right arm looks familiar,i think it's a weapon for "Armored Core"..
Thanks kabayan! yeap, I tend to use those armored core weapon parts a lot...lazy to scratch built and I lack the skill to do custom weapons.:)
That's one evil looking Dom. I think my head spins after seeing the amount of details there...
I love the see-through leg thrusters.
thanks for the visit man! the see through leg thrusters are the hardest to do.:)
Amazing, terrific detailing. Over the top in some ways but seeing that's the goal, must say it's well done, all the details look seamless on the Dom, impressive!
Thanks a ton man! drooling 1 1/2 months of pla plating work.;)
Awesome dude!! Pretty detailed, and the grid on the foots are just amazing!
Thanks a ton bro Dalai! the leg armor details are the hardest part of the build.;)
looks mean. Makes the other Doms look soft. Remind me of the timidness of a German Tiger tank
Thanks man! appreciate the visit! I might work on another Dom by January. ;)
It's a good job and I can see all the effort put into it, but at the same time, I just have to ask. What is it that we're looking at exactly? I know you thought you were doing some kind of an alien robot, but what was your inspiration. I'm impressed, but confused at the same time.
Thanks man! hehe...the concept was to make it look lowtech, I mean patches of metal put together to form a robot...steam punk industrial age look...but honestly, I was just experimenting on how a kit would look like if you overdetail it. :)
