Transformers Masterpiece MP-04 Optimus Prime

Posted by Fenix [www]

Received recently Takara Tomy's Masterpiece MP-04 Optimus Prime. Damn that box is big and heavy. A total weight of 4kg, cost me 6,800 yen just for shipping. But sure beats buying the North America version. The thing is really heavy and tons of die-cast parts. The 25 Year anniversary prime here in North America has tons of plastic parts compare to the original masterpiece prime. So I'm happy that I got this one instead. Much better, although definitely cost a lot more.

Following is a few photos. More on my blog at http://awtlblog.vitsco.com/2009/11/transformers-masterpiece-optimus-prime/

What? The Transformers Device line is already released?!

I've always wanted to pre-order that 2GB Savage Flash Drive... But since I didn't know how much it was, I never bothered. XD Would rather spend on a few Figma Aigises. =3

I'd rather keep my original G1 Op Prime with all his die cast goodness. Didn't know the 25th anniversary one was mostly plastic. I thought (since it looked exactly like the original G1 Prime) it was die cast, too.

Original G1 Optimus Prime is good. But the finish on this masterpiece version is much better. And not to mention I don't have to fumble to find his hands since the hands goes into the arms and all his weapon secures right in the trailer heh. The only draw back is that roller is missing. But of course the original G1 is well always the original one.

Yeah 25th anniversary one is horrible heh. There are way too many horrible point about that one. That's definitely an re-issue that one should avoid.

um, what was the optimus prime version that could either combine with the trailer or combine with that space jet guy? I always wanted those, plus the minicons were always cool, I don't fathom the new desgins as much.
