Transformers Masterpiece MP-8 Grimlock

Posted by Fenix [www]

This one is not that new. Masterpiece Grimlock was released on March 2009. But I didn't get a hold of it until the re-release in October. I love those Dinobots. They are just cool heh. Even though they are not articulated and poseability is limited due to their dinosaur design but they are cool none the less. I really hope Takara Tomy will release all of the Dinobots as Masterpieces but then that probably won't happen.

Interesting. Other than a few minor sticker updates and the newer claws, it's basically the original Grimlock.
And the apron shot reminded me of a friend who did a series of "Cooking With Grimlock" pictures last year. Who knew he could cook so well?

Nice! I saw this gem at Otakon this year but unfortunately didn't have the funds to get him. After looking at your pics this is a must have for me.

Thanks to the wonders of animation magic in the 80s, Grimlock's size changed depending on the mood of the animation staff!!
But yes, I think canonically he is meant to be bigger than prime. Stronger too.

And I agree with FMPhoenixHawk. I never really got into MP Grimlock because I always felt that the original G1 toy was close to perfection. The transformation was accurate, the look was accurate. Basically, they got him right first time! The only thing the could really do is improve on the articulation a little!

Quite honestly... Despite the hefty price tag, which has prevented me from putting it on my want list, I'd love to have this be part of my "in development" collection. :3

Reminds me of the G1 series toys (re?)released in 1992, I wanted a G1 Optimus and Grimlock soooo bad at that time... Ofcourse then Power Rangers came up and I was into their Zords. had a short attention span as a kid :-)
