If you read wcloudx's post (http://www.figure.fm/post/en/3921/AmiAmi+Goes+International+With+English+Site.html), you will know that AmiAmi.com now accepts international orders. When I saw that post I immediately took a look at what they had in stock and found a couple items that I was interested in.

-GSC Rin Kagamine
-Megahouse Taiga
-Transformers Masterpiece Grimlock
-also got a di:stage set and robot tamashii base set, but I was planning on buying these eventually.

Rin and Taiga were on sale while Grimlock was being sold at a cheaper price than Hobbysearch and HLJ.

AmiAmi processed the order very quickly, it only took 2 days for it to ship out. As for shipping, they only use EMS which is fine with me because unless I'm ordering a single item I feel more at ease using EMS. The packing slip said the postage paid was 6100 yen and I was charged 6800 yen, not sure how AmiAmi determines the shipping cost but I assume they'll charge one EMS rate higher than the actual cost.

It was a good first experience and I look forward to using them again (I've already placed a pre-order with them).

packaging is the same as Hobbysearch

I've had a good first experience with AmiAmi too, and have shifted a few pre-orders over to them.

Oh, I should mention what really made an impression on me: after charging me for shipping, AmiAmi actually refunded me some money because they overestimated the shipping charge. They could have just left the charge as-is and I would never have known, so I thought it was really great of them to correct their mistake regardless.

Sounds good so far... I've placed a trio of preorders with them, one each on December, February and March... 0_0

Yeah I switched most of my orders from HS over to AmiAmi. Shipping costs will be about the same but the price on figures is the deal breaker. AmiAmi is always cheaper by about $5-20USD per figure. In fact just changing 7 pre-orders for February was over 10,000 yen cheaper with AmiAmi.

Otacute is another site I use and love them but they still charge more. Even with SAL shipping I'd be paying more with Otacute over AmiAmi. Really glad they are shipping internationally ^^

I switched a few November pre-order items to AmiAmi and I'll see how that goes before I do a complete swap from HS. The one thing I really like about HS is how easy it is re-combine pre-orders which is especially useful when items are delayed.

HS has a nice interface but that alone is not worth the higher overall cost to me ;; AmiAmi has been really easy to sort out orders. They automatically will split orders into the appropriate release months and ship them together. If you want certain figures paired with other ones though they do take specific requests via email and will change your orders for you. ^^

I'm thinking of ordering something from them once as a trial run. There's still one thing I don't get, and I hope someone can answer my question for me. We know about their "no cancellations" policy for international, but what about pre-orders?

Wow, it nice to hear that AmiAmi get so much positive feedbacks for their international services. They will definitely be my first priority place to go to for my future preorder XD.

As for my current preorder, I'm currently debate whether or not to cancel my Alter Fate from HLJ and preorder through them. Idk though, she getting really close to release, I would feel pretty bad to cancel her at this point, but then HLJ price are expensive and they process/ship stuffs awfully slow. EMS option feel like SAL most of the time >.<

I've been pre-ordering mostly from HLJ because of the cheaper SAL shipping, but there are a few from AmiAmi that I've picked up that HLJ didn't have. Good to hear good results, especially from somebody in my neck of the woods ^o^

If your ordering more than 3 figures I'd go with AmiAmi due to the huge price difference. Also just so you know LS, Otacute ships SAL, Registered Air, FedEx, and EMS and prices are usually around(or lower) the same price as HLJ. They also sometimes carry the limited edition figures like Figma Reimu and Nendoroid Reimu for sale as well ^^

I have nothing against HLJ either. I still use them occasionally ^^

My order kinda slow (I only order two items). Paid two days ago and today only receive the confirmation email of my payment. May be they're so busy dealing with load of order, or may be they need to wait to secure the payment in order preventing fraud (as some of you might know, the online fraud level in my country kinda high, hahahaha....)

Anyway, they charging higher than actual EMS cost because the handling fee. You know, fee for boxes, wrap, sealing tape, man power, etc. I kinda surprised too when seeing the amount of shipping+handling fee because I'm pretty sure my order is less than 1 KG but they charge me higher than the fee for 1 KG EMS fee.

But I don't mind, since their discount is awesome. And they also selling some rare stuff that you'll never find it in other store.

Otacute it self also a good store (let's forget the beer box things okay). They offering SAL, we can pay directly without the need of waiting them to send you the invoice (faster payment, faster shipment). They also can provide some rare stuff, and they can be faster than anyone in opening pre-order item.

Pre order item in Otacute came without discount, however when they got the released item in stock, they usually selling with lower price. They also giving you crazy-ultra-lower-price like, 500 yen for Rena Sayers Figure?!?!

HLJ also good site. Even their discount only came from early bird offer and sale offer, but so far, I have no problem with my order with them.

Whatabout HobbySearch? Up until now, I never order item from them. Because their International service just opened today, while amiami already opened few days ago :D

It was a holiday in Japan a day or 2 ago so the shops were closed. Most likely the cause of the confirmation delay.

I have to ask, how is it possible that their prices are so low?

It's driving me crazy! Because now, I want to cancel all my HLJ orders and place them with AmiAmi, the only thing is, I can't cancel orders at AmiAmi once their made.

    Hm... Decisions decisions...

Well on top of their site, they did said "The Biggest Internet Figure Shop In Japan". I guess this is the reason why they are able to price items with such low price hehehe. Anyway, I'm in the same boat as you are too, still trying to decide whether or not to switch to AmiAmi completely from HLJ =/

Especially because I have a habit of pre-ordering everything that I want and when the dates approach, cancel accordingly to that month's budget.
