Sept & Oct Loot!!
I thought I would share my purchases for the last 2 months with you all. Not much was delivered in September so I skipped over it. October especially, was a rather expensive month...

For a quick breakdown, here are the figures and plastic kits. My revoltech Reycal should be here as well, but I forgot to include her in the pic. whoops...
Megahouse Sheryl Nome, GSC saber lily and Kotobukiya Hoihoi-san present!!

Next up are the books. I bought replicant works 5 from HLJ during their free shipping promotion and I bought the MS girls artbook from fellow community member radiant!

Some event exclusive items from Chara hobby way back in August!! Fighters special VF25 with event exclusive Sheryl Nome base and the Nyan Soubi mascot!
A more detailed breakdown can be found on my blog.

And finally, the big 2. Yes, that box at the bottom is also a purchase.
The knight of gold was one of my grail kits so I had to snap it up right away! As for the box...

It's this!!! Look familiar?

Hot on the tail of Tier's post on his 1/4 Usegi Kenshin from volks, I present to you KOS-MOS Ver 4 1/4 scale.
Some of you may remember her from wcloudx's post a while back. well, I dug in deep and bought an original from the HRSR event! Set me back 68,000 yen (+ shipping) which, at the time, was around £485/$780 (the exchange rate was even worse back then...)
Still, given the choice, I'd do it all over again!!
The Knight of Gold and KOS-MOS get their own post because they are that awesome. You can find it here.
EDIT: One thing I forgot to mention is her size. For all of you who went the dubious/easy way out and ordered the gathering version of her from E2046 and have managed to avoid the growing voice of discontent regarding her on their forums, KOS-MOS stands at just under 43cm tall. With the G-SHOT, that goes up a little higher. What that means is that she will not, I repeat NOT fit on a single Detolf shelf. Thought you would like to know...

OOHMAGAWD!!! FSS Mortarhead KoG!!
Drooling in that FSS too!! gonna lay in my hand that "Reycal" ^|||^
WOW! You actually bought the KOS-MOS!! That's killer, man!
Oh and this reminds me that I still haven't opened my Hoi Hoi-san yet ^^;
yep, that really is killer. It killed my bank account!!!!
But I have no regrets!!
Squeeeee! A KOS-MOS resin kit! Um...better be careful and wear a facemask and a pair of gloves when doing a resin kit.
Resin isn't *that* toxic. It can cause problems if you inhale a massive amount of the stuff (we're talking intake every day over years here) but there's no danger of anything when touching it. Just need to wash off the dust when you're done!
I agree but better be safe than sorry. You know, prevention is better than cure. Things like that for me must not be taken lightly or perhaps I on the other hand have no experience and about to do my plutone gundam resin kit.
Ahhh...so you're the one that bought the Gundam Girls Artbook (xx) I wanted it. Awesome collection.
OMG!! Thats one HUGE KOS-MOS!! How much did you spend for all of those??!!
I don't even want to think about it...
The 2 Volks kits alone cost 84,000 yen and that's before factoring the shipping and customs charges!!
Factoring all the others and I can the final cost easily breaking 100,000 yen but with all the different currencies in play, it get messy pretty quickly.
Gawd... thats expensive... Well.. Price doesnt really matter when you got the product you want
That Knight of Gold is going to be one horrible pain to make, but since you bought that huge KOS-MOS kit, none should doubt whatever awesome talent you may possess. Good luck.
Mmmm KOS-MOS ver 4 is my favorite, though I've never played the saga part of the series ^^; Can't wait to see her completed and painted! Σd(>口<)
I have to confess that Ver 1 is my favourite and the best version of her was the old Alter PVC figure, which I own.
I did like the ver 4 Alter did as well, until I looked at the hip and certain angles made it look like she had a bit of a bulge...
But I just fell in love with this kit as soon as I saw it back when it was only displayed in the grey prototype colours. The last kit to have that effect on me was Haruhi several years ago, and I broke my bank balance then as well!!!
Yey Sheryl!! Wow that last figure looks intense :O
oooooo nice KOS-MOS resin kit.
Really need to get my hands on that Sheryl figure. Definitely THE best Sheryl figure that one can own.
Yeah, thank you for the information regarding to the Detolf. I was already expecting that she won't fit into the detolf case, but was HOPING that it will work.... oh well.
Time to build her a separate case out of UV proof acrylic I guess
question
do resin kit smell like... raw resin? that will be, smell like a heavily concentrated, sharp pleasant smell that make it unpleasant anymore
anyway, will you try eye decal for this kit(send eye PDF to any decal maker)? :D
Resin does have a smell but only when you're sanding the parts and the like. It's also present when the parts are still "fresh" and new but by the time you paint the kit, it's not there anymore.
As for the eyes, they gave a separate decal sheet for lots of markings but no eyes. Besides, I've gotten used to painting them on myself so I think I'll stick with "tradition" and have a go myself with nothing but paint, a thin brush and a steady hand.
wel.... i am not sure of unfinished resin kit, but judging from the kit that my friend own, I would say no.... I do not think finished resin kit smells weird or bad in anyway.
In fact, I think they scent is less of a pvc figure
I preordered the E2064 Gathering version last week and today I just got word that they just recieved the first shipment ready for delivery. Yes I know, it's a prepainted recast. But unless Volks or someone else produces a pre-painted version or if they commission someone else to release a PVC version, this is my best option.
Frankly I have no problem with the look of their version if it looks anything like what's shown on their website. There've been some complaints on their forum in the past few months on earlier prototypes that they built but they listened to most of these complaints and made further changes. Sure there are a few alterations to set it apart from the original but in my opinion, it still looks good. After all, this is a recast and anyone buying one should expect that.
My hats off to you if you happen upon an original Volks GK kit prepainted or if you're painting yourself. You got yourself a real gem. These are so rare. Even if I could find one, I probably couldn't fork up the money they are askng for. I'll be content with this since its going into my own personal collection. And I'm perfectly fine with it.
Thanks for the heads up on the dimensions... I'm looking into getting my Detolf cabinet modified. I've already contacted a local plastic customization shop for options. Will probably add two extra bars in there to latch onto the frame so I can raise one of the shelves. I'm assumng she'll take up most of the space on a single tier since I can imagine with the G-shot her width will will take up a lot of space too.
