meronpan's room もっかい

Posted by meronpan [www]

There we go, an updated otacool submission some high resolution pics. Once again, spread out some of the stuff that was piled up so you can have a better look/make things a tad more interesting.

name ~ meronpan
age ~ 28
how many years you have been an otaku ~ 10 or more? ^^;
nationality ~ american
outline of your collection ~ Approximately 500 volumes of manga, 87 figures (14 figma/nendoroid) + a handful of nendoroid puchis.
how much your collection cost ~ if I had to guess, the retail value is probably somewhere between 700000円 and 1000000円?
your fave item ~ just one? ^^;; mmm... Alter's Exelica.
your website address ~ http://wawawawasuremono.com/
Anything else you want to say. ~ 数年前自分が「オタク」だとあんまり思ってませんでした。 ただ漫画を読むのが好きで時々アニメを見るのも好きでした。 何が起こったかと聞いても自分も分かりません ^^; (A few years ago I didn't really think of myself as an otaku. Just liked reading manga and watching anime somtimes. Now if you ask me what happened, don't really know myself ^^;)

Have accumulated quite a bit of figure parts ^^;;

As you can see from the previous pics, my shelves are full... this is all the manga I need to find space for ^^;

Likewise my detolfs are more than full... will have to make some progress in procuring more display space...

      i wonder what percentage of japanese sleep on the floor nowadays... i highly recommend it for people who move around a lot... really easy to move your bed :P

      manga count was a pretty rough estimate based on the numbers i got from the contest (http://wawawawasuremono.com/2009/01/02/contest-results/) i held earlier. honestly i'm not really sure how much i've bought since then thou ^^;; would love to hear how much you have... just be careful with those towers :P

        "You worry about those fighters! I'll worry about the tower!" ...
        Sorry, that Star Wars line was being begged to be quoted XD

        And I actually have more manga in the crawlspace in boxes......

        I don't even want to think about how many manga volumes I have. Enough to fill 4 large HLJ boxes with enough leftover to still float around visibly in my room!!
        I even remember my first manga. Neon genesis evangelion vol 1, 1st print (left to right format) after all these years they STILL haven't finished it!!

        Your ballpark amount for the cost sounds about right tho. Mines around that much, although your collection dwarfs mine in terms of sheer number.

      sorry to keep spamming pics of my room but danny keeps giving me good excuses to do so ^^

      you're too kind! yakumo's manga collection blow mine out of the water! and from what i can tell, he purchases translated stuff which is (at least here in the us) more expensive!

        Mine is mostly Japanese, because I want to learn so badly, but to me, 500 is god-like!. Anyway, Danny is like that, you know ^^;; Not that I mind, but I think I have already used every possible synonym of "marvelous" "epic" and the like ^^;;;

    Spacious...was my first thought when I saw your last room in the contest last time.

    lol That last pic, is it a trend that most people choose to sleep and somehow conceal their faces? (hints kodomut)

    So much room. Like 2 or 3 of my room in one.

    Haven't slept on the floor much but if I had a place in Japan I would try it.

    Your room's so...white. ^^;

    By the way, I quite like the mecha musume you've got on the top shelf of the left Detolf. :P Contemplated getting her myself, but I axed it in one of my many want-list clean-ups.

    Just saw these on your site but wanted to comment here too. Lovely photos and do like your otaku room.

    While it's still a very crowded and goods infested room, it looks manageable than some other filled to the brim rooms since your interior is white which gives ample feeling of space.
    See that your shelves are chock full and you have stacks of boxes, but they’re all still neatly arranged, so it doesn’t feel like they’re just dumped there like some other otaku rooms (no offense to anyone's room meant, I just like cleanliness like here).
    I’m not participating in otacool since all I have is my desk and few rows in my rack with some anime DVD’s, manga and artbooks so alas not enough. ^^;;
