1/4 Uesugi Kenshin E2046 Gathering version
A few days ago, blogsphere comrade Tier celebrated his acquisition of the rare and limited edition of pre-painted version of the 1/4 Uesugi Kenshin from Volks A-brand. I promised him to take a few pictures of my own 1/4 Gathering version for him to compare the finishing quality between the two. That reminded me, I never quite taken pictures of my 1/4 army, might as well take this chance to snap a few pics eh?
For those of you who are not familiar just who this Uesugi Kenshin is, please take a look at one of my earlier post for the 1/5 Uesugi Kenshin Freeing version. In 2007, in a survey done by Tech Gian, Kenshin narrowly defeated Saber from Fate Stay Night to become the most popular eroge game heroine of the year. Enough talking, let’s dig in~
As usual, full scale images are available in my blog

I picked up this Kenshin a few years ago, obviously I haven’t gotten in Dollfie Dream then. I have always treasured this Kenshin as the most elegant painted figure I have ever owned, like a goddess descended from heaven.

Just beautiful~ isn’t she. I am waiting for the day when Volks announce Dollfie Dream Kenshin~
As an added bonus, I would throw in a group photo of the 1/4 Yamamoto Isuroku, which I acquired as a sister kit with Kenshin.

This pair of figures, which I called the Twin Tower of Goddesses when I acquired them are still the most impressive painted figures I have in my collection to-date.

nice and sexy^^
...nice !! 8D
Nice prepaint there Wolf.. My only beef with it is.. Knowing how much one of those Gathering goes for.. It bothers me to see such an unsightly seam at the neck line. And there were a couple of other errors.. that if I was building it up.. I just wouldn't have stood for.. but I guess thats why it can sometimes take me many months to finish a kit. Admittedly I'm fairly picky when it comes to resin.. Especially when your buying it finished like that.. it should be a professional job.. since they are making a premium off it. If it was somebody who is an amateur like myself.. You make allowances, for the fact the skills aren't up there yet. but all in all its a very nice prepaint indeed. Skin tones were well done, and the shading was really good too.
As far the neckline goes, since they came in pieces, I kind of remember having to assemble the head on myself, possibly attribute to the neckline you are talking about?
I didn't even notice that seam at the neck until you pointed it out, and scrolled back up to check! So i guess i have to agree... besides that. the figures are amazing! but i guess there isn't really much you can do about it?
There isn't much that could be done actually. Complex resin kits are split into many different pieces so they could be packaged and ship internationally. Considering how massive this kit is and have to be securely packaged to avoid damages and has to be easy to assemble at customers' locations, I don't fault them for having the neckline there.
I do, only because.. I have kits that have the similar neck line failure.. and Well I fixed mine.. and the head is still removable.. When I build kits.. I use a simple practice concept. Gravity should hold my kit together.. Pins and gravity.. nothing more. so I tend to use very little glue. Only time I use glue is when something can't be held on by just pins and gravity. like a leg that will fall off.. because of gravity.
All in all I stil lthink its a nice prepaint.
WOW just WOW
