Atelier Series Official Chronicle covers the art from all the Playstation Atelier games, from Atelier Marie, to Mana Khemia all the way up to Atelier Rorona. It has what you never expect game books to have---tons of art! The book goes in order from oldest to newest Atelier Series, with Mana Khemia in the mix as the spiritual successor to the Atelier Iris series.

The cover art is by Kishida Mel, the character designer for Atelier Rorona. They've chosen the newest Aterlier series for the cover, no doubt because it's sure to have a lot of new fans.

I am constantly misspelling the word Atelier by the way, somehow, I keep adding an extra 'r.' The first section features Atelier Marie, the oldest of the bunch. Each section consists of a few pages of art work promotional art work, then art work from the game scenes and finally profile pages of the the characters. Atelier Marie is illustrated by Kohime Ohse.

Atelier Elie has a very similar look to Atelier Marie, but I suppose that's the point. There are 22 pages in this section, with 5 character profile pages. In this section like the first, the non-main characters have half page profiles.

This book is 272 pages of full color gorgeous-ness, so it's kind of impossible to really show you all of the good stuff ^^; This was my favorite picture from the Atelier Judie section, one of the older ones that I really like.

And a bit of Mana Khemia :D

> Img ID#29167 | New tab | Mouseover = load notes.

Both Mana Khemia series are pictured, with character profiles, and promotional art heavily featured. Even some of the in-game still are there, and they're pretty awesome.

> Img ID#29170 | New tab | Mouseover = load notes.

A lot of the sections also have a new, original illustration done exclusively for the book. It's cool to see new art work from some of the games, considering they've all long since ended.

The Atelier Rorona section has by far the most fan-service, and even then that's tame by the standards of most other artists and art books. I really think the Rorona illustrations are the highlight of the book, but that's all up to personal taste! Do you have a favorite Atelier series?

Have the mana khemia student alliance psp game but haven't gotten far into it yet as I find the english voice actors to not really fit the role of the image I have for the characters and just sorta killed the mood I had for the game in the begining, sorry if it offends anyone. Still trying to get used to the voices as I play it every once in a while when I have free time.

      This happens to me all the time, I just keep playing until I love the story line more than I dislike the voice actors ^^;

Very nice review. Apart from seeing scans from the series I'm not sure what Atelier is.

Will consider purchasing this art book. Great reviews on your website as well. I didn't know Nitro+ had a special commemoration in the November's Comptiq issue. I went ahead and ordered that one, should match nicely with my other Nitro+ 10th Anniversary stuff I got a while back.

Also purchased Majimoe Special Selection from Kinokuniya as well. I'm trying to find Shimada Humikane Art Works for a good price in addition to Remains ~ Gensou Kaikyou by Windmail and haLRu. The latter is especially hard to find. I ended up passing it on Yahoo! JP Auctions after C76 (^^;) Quite regrettable.

Ah, thank you (>^^)> Atelier does sound rather sophisticated.

Wonder how it's pronounced (Oo)... Ah-tell-ee-'ere?

Thanks! Buying art books and the like is the most blind shopping you can do online, so I'm doing what I can to help clear it up ^^ Good luck on Windmail, doujin stuff is too hard to get after the events, and there's still C77 to contend with! ~_~

Beautiful artworks. I've only played Atelier Iris 1 and 2 with some of 3. Classic rpgs with fun characters and item synthesis. Really enjoyed them.

I'll keep a look out for this cover, even if it covers games I have not played yet. Thanks for sharing. ^_^

    Love the book!!

I only played Atelier Iris 3 and Mana Khemia. Though it's repetitive but I don't know how I manage to sit through them...
Maybe it's about time I start on Mana Khemia 2.

I actually have a walk through for Amazon Japan on my site under About >> Shopping. Amazon Japan also explains how to order http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/help/customer/display.html?ie=UTF8&nodeId=1039600 They're really easy to use because they don't vary in design from country to country.
