Astray Pink For The Ladies

Posted by alpha

supposedly to be an Astray Blue Frame but a tweak of colours makes it an Astray Pink. hopefully not just the ladies but all who love the colour pink would come to love it too. -- alpha

I must say, this looks very nice. I love the clean paint job, but I feel like panel lines are a bit thick, regardless the sword's paint job is what I love the most, I wish you could have incorporated the metallic color into the astray somehow though. Great job!

thank you for your comment :)
a comment coming from a skilled modeller like yourself means a lot to me
about the panel lines, i'm not sure whether is it due to the flat/matt coat finish applied before the lines are drawn or maybe the camera is way too close... i wonder...
don't worrry, i do have plans to experiment/incorporate metallic colours onto my future models!

Hey alpha, you're welcome. I'm not that skilled of a modeler though... There are an infinitesimal number of modelers better than me. A suggestion, wait 2-3 days until Matte coating because it gives the paint time to dry. Or if you are unable to wait, spray a mist layer first so you don't give the paint in the panel lines room to float. After the mist coat do another, then follow with a wet coat.

Hmm actually after seeing the color scheme for the sword... why don't you just go for Trans-Am color scheme?

I'm gonna make a wild guess and say it's metallic red on blue parts, making it look purple.

you're so close to getting it my friend :)
here it is: gloss black --> 2-parts super silver + 1-part clear red
by the way, i'm using mr color paints
the intensity of the red is up to individual
i got this feeling most people are going trans-am mode already!

I'll go with Exiled_Gundam--the paint work on the sword would have been a lot better. The pink isn't bad, but it looks a bit too plain and lacks personality on the kit...

Pink, probably the very last on the list of colors I'd ever paint with. Yet very, very well done. I think the thick black lines fit really well.

The only think that irks me is the pose. Seems really unnatural. s

when drawing panel lines i try to keep my sweaty, trembling hands as steady as possible and the pen close to the groove
it's not perfect if you see the real model
of course i screwed up umpteen times and did a lot of cleaning up when i finished drawing the lines
