Death Note L - Pirated Nendoroid!

Well, this is just great. After being a proud owner of this nendoroid for about a week, I stumbled upon this article: http://hobbychaos.blogspot.com/2009/07/nendoroid-shanaa-fake-one.html
I had doubts about mine from the start, because the pieces were in kinda bad condition, the paint job seemed a bit lacking, and the head it had on was not the one the pictures showed it was supposed to have. But hey, maybe it was a manufacturer's error. Most sites say that there may be small differences due to mass production.
Well, after reading the article above, I pulled up a pic of the real L's box. Sure enough, mine didn't have the seal on the box. Next, I could see that my stand, like the other fake's had the large "Made in China" with nothing else written on it. That plus the poor quality leads me to believe that this figure is indeed fake.
I simply don't know what to do. I don't think I can return it, as I bought it online, but I want to prevent it from happening again. Mine was ordered from tisinc99 via amazon.com. I will be writing a very negative review as well as asking them why my figure is not an official product. Please be careful when buying figures! I learned that the hard way :(

Tisinc99 is one of the worst company to buy from next to Kidnemo.
They customer support will flat out ignore you.
Do you mean Kid Nemo has bad service, or fake products?
Bad service.
Not very good service, I've ordered the first Yostuba&! Fuuka figure from KidNemo and they totally forgot about my order until I reminded them about it a month later. That will be the only time I ever order from them.
Yes I just got ripped off by them on a Nendo Miku, avoid this seller!
Add - It was Tisinc99 (Treasure Island Sports) that sells bootlegs, and yes, no response to e-mails.
You can buy Nendoroid at HLJ.com, HobbyStock, Otacute, or Amiami. They're legit Nendoroid and Figma seller. They all in Japan, and shipping fee can be pricy, but at least you get the authentic one. :D
Or, ask the people here about a store or a shop first before you decided to buy at that store/shop.
And, avoid ebay at any cost, except you want to get rare Nendoroid. But again, ask the people around here first before you hit the buy it now/bid button :D
replace Hobbystock with Hobbysearch :D
Agreed, HobbySearch = Super
True ^^
Tisinc99? Really? I have not had any problems buying from them in the past. Though I suppose I will have to be more vigilant just in case.
>.< I'm also waiting for my first nendoroid, from ebay. Hope everything is fine >.<
patti just got fake figma from e-bay !!!

is there no sticker of authenticity from shueisha (shinny sticker ussually golden or silve)pic above

??????
Yeah, its not there.
that's make 100% BOOTLEGS >_<
Not necessarily. Almost all of my nendoroids do not have those stickers on their boxes but they're 100% legit. A dead giveaway is the color of the GSC logo. Fakes usually have the "Good Smile Company" text close to black while genuine ones are clearly gray.
DN nendos are some of the nendos that have a lot of bootlegs... next in line are Shana and Miku.
Then again, if you want to make sure of the originality of your nendos, better buy from legit sellers :)
Maybe you should contact Amazon? They might be able to do something about it
as long as u see poor pain job, 95% confirm it's a bootleg..
Sucks for you. But, then again, the first figure I ever bought was a bootleg too. Ever since, I've been doing research on each figure that is a potential buy for me, so I don't get bamboozled with a fake.
Rules:
1. If the price is too good to be true, it's probably a bootleg. (unless it's on sale.)
2. Check the stores you buy from, and their reputation.
3. If possible check out the item yourself. If not, ask for photos of the box.

You can read that little article for some knowledge. Happy hunting.
Low price = bootleg. This has been posted 4534534 times sadly. I guess some people miss it? =/
Sorry you got a bootleg.
But it's the high price bootlegs that hurt the most...
A lot of people fall in to this trap, but alas. Now you know what to look for, so lesson learned. With Nendo's it's a better idea to buy from very trusted sites, I would never use Ebay to buy a Nendo.
Yeh e-bay is like the worst place to look for figma and nendoroids .... i had to get a miku hatsune figma but had no where else to turn so had to go ebay hunting after finally choosing one for a alright price of 40 dollers without shipping. was so scared it was going to be bootleg since was hearing stories from figurefm ... but when i got it .... it seems the real deal ... seller was "isabellaibebe" so maybe if you need to use ebay ... try that seller.
but if you want to get aany japanese related figure ... figma ..nendo .. or even just scaled figures dont use ebay .. stick with the usual ... hlj , hs , otacute or even play asia. good luck on getting more later
I'm pretty sure tisinc9 is selling that for the retail price too. =/
But then again he isn't a reputable seller. He sells both authentic and bootleg figures. You make sure you get your money back! Call Amazon and report this or ask him why he sold you a bootleg. I've gotten my money back when I bought bootlegs in the past. Don't give up!
Ahhh fake nendos.... scurge of the universe... though the face on that one looks alot better than some of the fake L's I've seen at convetions. Usually the black around the eyes is terrible.
if hes a pirate, wheres his eye patch? arrgghh but lesson is always buy from trusted dealers or take the risk. hope you can get a refund.
hem....i found one nendoroid call demonbane al azif in malaysia they say if the price is rm44 are fake nendoroid so i dont know it was real or not the thing that can make sure it fake or not is to see the sticker at the box
I have bought at least 2 figmas from ebay and both were totally legit ^_^ I haven't received a bootleg figure yet and I hope to never get one. Sorry about your bootleg you received.
I picked up a bootleg from Hong Kong too. Always be wary of low prices. It usually means it's a fake.
Bought close to 30 Nendo's off E-bay over the last 4 months. No problems so far, just do your research like look for people saying 100% genuine, not just 100% new and unopened. Look for the special silver logo stickers and you will also find that fakes never bother with extra protective wrapping for the figures inside the retail box.
Simply watch e-bay for a while and you will get a feel for what Nendo's are targeted for fake reproduction. Shana, all the Deathnote bar xmass specials, Miku Hatsune (2 release numbers 33 & 62) and Haruhi Suyumiya to name a few.
sorry that you got a bootleg >< Be careful next time! I usually avoid buying from ebay myself.
Oh my god. DAMMIT ALL! I bought an L Nendo from Tisinc99! I haven't recieved it yet, but when I do, I'll send it back if I don't think it's ligit. You can send it back to them. I hate it when People do this! I really want to hit something now >:X @Amrita, I'm glad you know that, because I don't really trust this seller now, so all I can do is cross my fingers and hope! To anyone out there that bought a fake Nendo, I'm so sorry that you did, and I want you to send it back, and get your money. I also want you to question who ever sold it to you, because, sure as hell, I'm going to question this Tisinc99 person for what their motivation for selling fake figures to us! This stuff just makes me crazy, so sorry about my ranting.
