MSN-06S Sinanju mit V.A.R.D.A. Prototyp Partikel Kanone
This is this year's BAKUC entry. The modifications aren't extensive but they took a LONG TIME to make.
- Kitbashed/scratchbuilt main weapon (railgun)
- Scribed additional panel lines
- Used IC sockets to detail up the thrusters
- Custom paintjob
- Scratchbuilt diorama base
I was supposed to submit this for the bandai world gundam competition but I didn't for 2 things. First, I didn't finish this on Nov. 1. Second, even if I finished this on time, the local BAKUC rules prevents me from joining this build in any local or international contest prior to the BAKUC itself. Sad.......anyways:

Woooow! love the paint job and the railgun also :-P
Is that a modified version of Tallgeese III's gun?
Yes it is ^__^
You've got to take more pictures of that gun you scratchbuilt. I like the hexagonal design you added on the sinanju. The base looks excellent as well, but I think a bit of shading inside of the wall separation lines would have made it even better. I don't think that you should have used that shade of gold though considering your choice of matte finish; a more lighter yellow or orange would have sufficed. Your attention to detail is amazing man, this absolutely deserves placement in your BAKUC :D
There is a bit of shading in the walls. If you notice, even the pipes are a different shade of gray. I just didn't make it too highlighted because the mech itself isn't too shaded itself. Doing so would make the whole thing look weird (clean mech, shaded base). About the gold, I actually used Alclad polished aluminum layered with some clear yellow orange. Personally, I like deeper toned metallics than bright ones. I guess that part boils down to personal preference ;-)
That's what I was thinking about, the clean sinanju that is, but it is kind of strange for a base to be floating in space super clean eh? It's more understandable that the sinanju may have just been clean. By a different color from the gold I meant some sort of bright non metallic orange, but I see what you mean now. It's growing on me :P Anyways great job man I hope to be skilled like you one day.
Actually, I'd be more surprised if a space station gets dirty. After all, there is no wind, rain, dust, or anything in space that can cause weathering. Oils spills are acceptable, but then again how can it spill down a surface if there is no gravity? Paint chipping would be the safest. It's the same reason why rusted out space mechs are wrong......especially gundams since it was never stated that Gundanium contains iron (even stainless steel contains iron and it doesn't rust) and space contains enough oxygen to rust out any iron.......okay......nosebleed......blame my ramblings from my military modelling background where everything has to make sense 0_0
Thanks for the comments though! I find discussing things like these kinda fun actually.
Haha I was actually thinking of space debris, old mobiles suits and ships parts flying around and occasionally hitting the station. I mean if you fly through debris you're bound to get dirty. I like these discussions too, it helps me learn a lot when I'm wrong xD
Hahaha. That's why. I was actually trying to depict a section view of a fully functional space station than just debris. That was why I made it relatively clean.
WOW, nice sinanju :)
Goodness now I'm scratching my planned metallic brown Sinanju.. First time I was wowed by a matte red one :3
Very nice!
Mind show us some of the pic where the cords/wires joins? Im curious how does it look like from the back.
Hehehe.....Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures from that angle :-(
To explain it though, there are a total of 6 holes that I drilled to insert the wires. 4 of them are in the back, just behind the booster tanks about 2 on each side. The other 2 holes are drilled into the internal frame where the calf thrusters rest. The last 2 cables aren't in any holes though. They are just shoved into the hinge of the calf boosters ;-P

This is a very refreshing Sinanju!
Love your panel lines and especially that rifle, it's really nice!
I think I just wet my pants.
so beautiful. so.. beautiful. fantastic job!
Awesome Gun... looks cool ^_^
Werent you the guy who won the previous gundam give away contest here? With the scratch built sandrock custom? Anyway nice one with the sinanju dio that you have there! You really have the talent!^^,
Thanks man! Yep, I'm responsible for the Sandrock as well ;-p
omg wicked, detailing on paint job is awesome. great work :)
Wowzers! That sinanju is so awesome! You've definitely got the knack!
Oh Lord! Pretty awesome work! I love this model, I would like to pilot that and take me to the university everyday XD
This is the best build I've seen for Sinanju after Nishiさん's all out shiny version.
I hope you win something! :3
wow i just crapped my pants with your sinanju, just beautifull, one of the best
I followed your build of this at mechapinoy then saw it live back at November at the local BAKUC. At first I thought the matte finish isn't doing it but seeing it up-close and personal, changed my mind and wet my pants. XD
Excellent job, man. The weapon, the paintjob, the diorama base, everything. Truly a one-off kit.
filipino gunpla modelers are the best,Mabuhay kabayan! galing ng pinoy!!!!
a little bit pretentious aren't we? your blind racism reeks sir.
Anyone can be good with practice pre ^__^ Thanks for looking!
EPIC dude! can i ask u something? since i live here in Iloilo and wala masyadong hobbyshops to buy specific materials for our kits especially paints advisable ba to use hardware spraypaints like BOSNY paints a friend of mine told me that malulusaw daw ung kit...^^ ur advise master.
They would work too but you have to practice how to spray properly. Those non-hobby paints tend to lay on thick. Also, if you don't mix it well before spraying, the carrier fluid of the paint might melt the plastic.
O my goodness, this is truly a work of art...I really admire the craftsmanship and detailing you have done to this, to put that many hours would drive me insane! xD
Thanks! It's just a matter of time management and your determination to finish something or not. If you keep on working on something even little by little, it will eventually get finished compared to being scared of not finishing something and not work on it at all.
May I ask which red you used and is the finish flat or semi?
The paint was gloss but I put on a satin(somewhere between flat and semi-gloss) topcoat to finish it off.
It was Gaianotes red mixed with some orange and white.
