Finally bought myself a netbook!

Just a celebratory post to introduce to you all my "baby". This is an Asus Eee 1005HA Seashell and it answers to the name of "Hamster".

And if you're wondering where that name comes from...my baby's named for HIM. *points to Richard Hammond of Top Gear*

Thanks for reminding me that Top Gear is this Sunday! :)
Heh, I was going to say something similar. Gonna have to fire up the torrent client tomorrow afternoon (PST time zone)...
Very nice. I think the Asus Eee 1005HE also had good reviews. MSI is recommended(Advent 4211) Samsung NC10 are recommended too. I got the N110 and my friend has the NC10 he can play world of warcraft on his netbook. Its amazing what games these netbooks are able to play.
Thinking of getting a netbook for my next trip to Japan but I'm wondering if I should buy it here or overseas. Any idea which would be less expensive? All the netbooks seem to have the same hardware too.
Grats! I've had 2 Eee's so far from the very first 4G to the top of the shelf S101, with a 2gb ram upg and Windows 7. If you havn't already then a ram updated to 2GB for a nominal amount of money will do wonders for smoothness and I totally recommend windows 7.
It runs really smooth on 2gb of ram, though there arn't any drivers to speak of from Asus (way to go Asus), but Windows 7 sorts all the important stuff out like vidio, audio and networking. Kiss your Fn keys and CPU throttle key goodby till Asus releases drivers though imo the trade off for Windows 7 is worth it.
Just for some amusment on the side Diablo2 runs smooth with a full no CD install and fansubbed MKV Anime files actually play better, read as in work, than they did on the XP install it came with.
And yes as Evo00 mentioned it runs Wow fine, for solo play that is, raiding or 5 mans gets beyond choppy.
how much did it cost again? @_@;;
still prefer my asus m51r since it plays a bit more then just wow, but nice laptop non the less ^^
Very nice!
Even though I use Windows on my laptop, if I had a netbook I would install Ubuntu, just cause its so easy on the resources, and is faster. If you're only doing documents, web browsing, etc. its a lot faster.
Top Gear fan! <3 top gear :)
Series 15 starts tomorrow :D
Nice notebook. Just bought myself a new laptop (albeit, its far from a netbook at 17")
so you called your Netbook, hamster? Well, I guess it beats calling it Captain Slow!! And Jeremy doesn't have a cool name.
Been thinking of getting a cheap laptop for bare basic stuff when I'm on the move but I won't accept anything less than 15" display (well, maybe 13") so netbooks are out!
