Nendo Bootleg
All this talk of bootlegs has made me think of bootlegs! Getting a fake figure sucks. I just recently had to deal with getting a fake. Not a pleasant experience. Its not like figures are expensive, but they aren't free either! I hope we all can grow our collections without running into too many fakes.
On the topic of bootlegs, I thought I would share with you all my Nendo Yoko Bootleg.

why are fake items called bootlegs anyway?

In case my attempt at sarcasm has failed :P This nendo is not a bootleg btw. This image was just added so as to not ruin the gag with the thumbnail image.

Haha
fakes called "bootleg" probably because like tha bootleg tunes, quality is low. :D
Are you sure that's a bootleg Yoko? What makes it a bootleg?
OH MAN, I feel so stupid. Now I get it ^^; I obviously haven't had my daily iced coffee.
I think bootleg is internet slang !!
Yeap... A leg wearing a boot... ^_^
I understood your joke, gave me a good chuckle. Boot + Leg, do I win a prize? :D
want a hug?
Yes Please!
LOL. This is nice XD
^_^ lol nice joke.
This term originated with smugglers and thieves who would hide things in the leg of their boots. It evolved to mean a pirated version of something.
ah ha! that makes the most sense!
Where do you live OP.
Bootleg is kind of a slag term.
I live in the state of Connecticut in the US, several meters away from the long island sound.
HAHAHHAHAHA a BOOT-LEG lool genius!!!
thank you, thank you.
Yay! I think the joke was successful overall. All the talk about bootleg figures, I just couldn't resist.
Sad that you had to deal with a bootleg. Can't they get in trouble for selling bootlegs? Did you report them or get your money back?
Just ordered a my first two Nendos last night, so I'm hoping they're legit! Cross my fingers!
I ordered miku nendo off some vendor that was listed on amazon.com. When I got it I was excited for about 2 seconds then I realized it was a fake. Really big seam lines, shiny hair, poor paint job. images on the box were kinda blurry. But since I ordered via amazon's website, Amazon helped me get a refund from the vendor. Pain in the neck really. Getting legit slightly older figures seems to be a bit hard.
Sad to heard that. My Miku came safe & sound and now staying happily on my desk. Thanks Otacute!
