Beware of fake/bootlegged figure part 2!!
Yesterday..i was in "Akiba look alike"(greenhills-gurrenhill that coffeebug say),i didn't not in my area (Area11 also know as tondo)see some bootleg figures..here too..lucky some people know people that my PSPcam is a toy "daw"..so they let me to pic...

Seems familiar to part 1 but this time they have new..i pinpoint in area is Greenhill (akiba ala something)..

Small K-on characters at low price (5 or 6 USD)..something,cute but...

Transformers..looks like original but how can you mentioned that they have 30% cut-off price ??

Prototype, god of war & some game related figures huh..i tested to buy one.

I buy this "HALO 3" figure..well it's looks like original but how can you manage it was a fake?? hard to detect...i see any part of it,lucky i ask a lady to cut-off the price so i take it as a gift.

Nendo's full cute but clearly there is leaked fake all over, so i buy nendo shana to give to my friend who help me last saturday..she didn't play it but just something..

other ones too..i see some "Figma" too but i didn't picture it due to guards around >|||<

outside..i see a "toheart" character (i really get "kousaka tamaki" figure in my B-day)

Hell..WWE & some arenas.

WOW figures...hell yeah!!

some small DBZ figures..too low price & paints are dull.

one pieces.

Bleach figures too..

Gundam stand..i see some "Benhi" scale models too..

EVE..so big!!

i see a "chinese" transformer magazine catalog..they didn't sell it..actually 1/4 reading some chinese word are too visible to not understand that.

I just say that i have bootlegs, but seems they overpopulated seeing in some malls & hobby shop that unknown.

"HelL BOOTLEGS OF TOYS" but at least they sell it cheap not ebay sellers that sell it with expensive price !! I can spot bootlegs easily ^_^
E-bay usually sells fake figures recently..
Not just recently. Always. Always fakes somewhere on e-bay.
Yup! That's true. I was victim of that T^T
eBay doesn't sell anything, they provide a service through which other people can sell things. Sure there will always be sellers peddling fakes, but there are plenty of legitimate sellers on there too.
On eBay, the number of bootleg goods outnumber the genuine ones.
Its better to get them off credible online stores like HLJ etc.
I don't dispute that, but eBay can be a good source for figures as a last resort and I don't think it should be completely dismissed.
Agreed Because once in while, there are some rare stuff posted on ebay.
I'm having a hard time telling they're bootlegs because the picture quality isn't very good. But I guess there's not much you can do about that.
I m using a PSP cam that's why it's grainy...but seems X-mas are so much item/toys to choose..
It's easy to tell because there are known bootlegs of majority of those figures. It's especially easy to tell from the Nendoroids they have. None of the boxes have stickers of authenticity.
Good catch, I didn't think about stickers of authenticity.
Seeing this makes me feel good about something essentially bad: I don't have big offline figure stores in my town. I just have to stick to big and respectable Japanese online shops^^
You shouldn't worry too much about the small figs like those K-On ones.
They're trading figs, low price and most of the time look ugly due it's cheapness (It has Fat Mugi among others for example).
Though with Nendo's and Figma's lately, always look out.
(lol grammar...i had a hard time understanding the post XD) Always be reminded that the bootleg figurines can cause health problems!! It emits a strong chemical smell! (will post it later on my blog for more details)
and i just noticed @image ID#30351 "Gundan" ? Ha!..what a total letdown XD
You notice huh...that's why i do the part 2 but in "Gurren-hills" area.
i'm not sure which character it is, but one of the ones in 30344 looks like its leaning pretty badly.
GUNDAN! LOL!
but yeah, as a picky otaku, I wanted the originals.
But as a filipino who once lived in that country, gotta understand why the prices can be adjusted.
As Mr. Kammy has mentioned, some of those smaller and cheaper figures are trading figures, which are usually from gashapons or shokugans. Their cheap and cheerful quality is ideal for budget collection (i.e. no need to spend lots and lots of money to get those decent figures from the big brands).
However, I get the feeling that some people here in figure.fm and DC got used to the super high qualities of PVC figures that they may easily regard cheaper trading figures as bootlegs straight away.
I probably would've asked the store manager why they were selling bootlegs. I'd love to see his/her reaction. :3
Kanu in image #30350 doesn't have PVC version yet right?
that is not Kanu, but slight a little. nice on that Iron-man.
Uh... I had a hard time understanding the post... ><; The photos do say a lot though.
Nendos are definitely fakes. Kagamiku even detests being one. LOL.
Those gachas are most likely fakes too. I never trust figures that are not in their boxes or at least have plastic packaging with them. The difficult thing with trading figures is that it's more difficult to spot the difference sometimes since they're so small. But if you do buy a bootleg, I'm pretty sure they'd profit more since they most likely have been acquired at a cheaper price. ><;
I wish you could've tried taking photos of the scaled figures, like Moka for example, to see if they were fake as well. They look legit from afar ><;
Which store in Greenhills was this? Somewhere in Shoppesville?
Yes..but not on than..they are many untrusted shops selling on that..tiredness but fun ^|||^
Taking a picture is bit caught up by a guards (it is forbidden to take photos in an establishment malls)..lucky i use a PSP cam...so those guards can't caught me ^|||^ (Spying some things).
As much as they sell bootlegs they have places there like Wasabitoys and Greattoysonline that you can trust. I frequent those places often.
I see alot of fake figures too in my area. But I rarely saw fake Nendoroid or Figma. Mostly are Naruto, Bleach, Death Note, and Dragon Ball. I'll try to take the pics while I can (if the store keeper didn't noticed me :D
WAT!? Not my Alex Mercer too!!
i buy this saber !

=(
GUNDAN says it all lol When I lived in the Philippines, there were tons of fake figures/models out there. Some of the Gundam models were made by a so called "Bindi" or "Bandi" When asking if they were legit, (which they obviously arent)they non hesitantly said yes they are. Beware ! A lot of places in Green Hills and 168/devasoria sell a lot of fake merchandise that the vendors claim to be real.
where i can find this toy store?please...
oh, this store looks familiar, is it called bestoys or something? i know they sell like a ton of bootlegs there, i tend to avoid that place.
theres another hobby store in greenhills i frequent in, its called wasabitoys and they only sell originals there fortunately.
Only buy Bootleg, if you are a sucker for bargains, or 2, if you want the real ones, but the originals are too expensive
To this day, I still want a Goku figure like that. The real one though.
authentic, bootlegs do not exsist of her..............yet
As far as I remember, that pumpkin girl DOES have bootlegs. I Read some post about that bootleg several times on the INTERNET quite a long time ago...
The Wonfest version with the large crown hasn't a bootleg, but the normal version does.

Whoah!
always wanted to go to greenhills, is there a shop of Gunplas? even bootleg ones? cause my uncle bought a a bandai MG Unicorn in green hills..
looky! a bound doc! :D sadly it's a bootleg..
i didnt know that kagamiku is now also in bootleg in philippines..i also live in phillipines
i don't see any figures at all. might i be blind or did i just see some fuuckload of crap on the screen? well, whatever that would be, i hate bootlegs. anyways, how many figures do you have so far? (bootlegs and authentic) well, nice review btw xDD
