Without sounding pessimistic, world peace will never happen. Man is a greedy race, and so long as two men roam the earth, they will fight over something. I'm far from an environmentalist, I don't believe climate change is caused by man. That said, I agree we need to do something about the trash. Throwing waste in water supplies and letting it build up in piles is a sure way to breed all sorts of diseases.

How about a sign that the human race will end? Well... I was dragged to watch 2012 on the first day and had a really long line to get in. As the line moved a long, we can hear scuffles and a few punches landing on someone's body... Yep, a fight broke out in the middle of the line. Dunno what caused it, but one of the things that the guy was swearing about was the other guy insulting his wife...
I really worry about the human race...

There's more than enough oil left in the Earth to last until alternative energy sources are more cost-effective. It's not that we don't have these alternative energy, it's just they cost too much. That's one of the biggest misconceptions people have these days. Drivers would rather save several cents and not go green to pump gasoline than ethanol.
The possibility of an Alien Invasion is quite interesting but I doubt the Aliens can't live on earth because of our germs and We have a guide on " How to Survive an Alien Attack "

I embrace war. War cannot be eliminated as long we humans exist. Even during "peace time" conflicts break out amongst us; fights between groups, sibling rivalry, and even in the business world where companies compete with each other. Our society is practically created on conflict! So whether you like war or not, it doesn't really matter: it'll continue to exist as long as we exist.
#7 Depletion of Oil. Hmm... I'm not sure if this would cause the end of the world. It might start a global war which might lead to a nuclear war and hence ending the world but if we're just talking about oil then that might not be the case. As we speak many countries are looking to "green" energy to lower or even eliminate our dependence on oil. If the world's oil reserves were to run out, the human race would still continue to exist... provided you don't mind cooking your meals in woodfire and sleeping at night with no lights and air conditioning and only a select few would be able to continue living with electricity~
Damn 2012 was an awesome movie! The story wasn't that all great but the graphics were jaw-dropping AWESOME!!! XD

Taking a course in evolutionary biology, one of the concepts you learn is that major extinction events happen and will continue to happen. Wiping out the dominant life to have the system reset itself is a natural part of life. Media, and personal, romanticism fawning over the date in which this happens is vexing to say the least. However, humans are curious by nature and it's only natural - and healthy - for us to contemplate our own end. It's a testament to our spirit.
As far as 2012 goes, it makes for great documentaries and flashy movies...but it's not a definite to happen. It could, then again something could happen tomorrow or next week, next month, in 2010, 2011, 2013, etc... the chances are the same on any given day. For 2012, it just so happened an ancient calendar ended on a particular date does not equate to the end of the world. Researchers in the field will tell you that the Mayans have predicated dates after 2012 (^^;) Though many '2012 enthusiasts' tend to forget that little bit.

You know all those "end of the world" things are running rampant since 1999. But for me, I'd stick to what my friend told me that his friend told him:
"The world is cirle. round and spheric. To draw a circle, you start anywhere. That means the world's end is unknown like the way one draws a circle. never knowing where to start."
Hope it clears some worries to some...but I doubt...and oh, something's missing, There's no nekomimi invasion!
