Rozen Maiden Art Book (PEACH-PIT画集 Rozen Maiden)
At the end of September 2009, Peach-Pit finally released Rozen Maiden Illustrations, a collection of art work presented in hard cover of everyone's favorite dolls, Shinku, Suigintou, and the rest! XD The book retails for ￥ 2,600 and is 88 pages long, which is a wee bit on the short side for my tastes.
There's another picture in here of Suigintou eating a bloody bird or something... I don't get it, but there's definitely a mouth fetish going on! ^^;
This is the one new piece of art work in the book (well aside from the cover), a fold-out poster, single sided, of all of the dolls. It's really nice, and has a different look as far as RM art work goes.
Shinku is a present! My biggest complaint about the book is the way that two page spreads are presented. There isn't any overlap, so the picture gets kind of sucked into the middle. The only time I've seen it worse was the Haruhi Suzumiya art book :P
Is it Barasuishou or Kirakishou? How can you tell? :o

Another pretty one. Shinku is of course, most featured in the book. There are quite a few portrait pictures of her that look almost identical. All the images in the collection date from between 2002 and 2007, so though you can see slight evolutions in style, none of the art work looks old or dated. PEACH-PIT continues to produce very high quality art work.
Though sometimes, it starts to look a little same-y after a while. There needed to be more pictures of the other dolls too, there's only so much Shinku I can take. No offense to Shinku fans, but she needs to share the limelight! :D

Oh, and that's Kirakishou by the way, the way you can tell is that Kira has an actual rose in her eye socket instead of Baras eyepatch. Making her much cooler that Barashishou~

yup Definitely Kirakishou =] >_> hate Barasuishou. Suigintou is pretty good but I think her eyes were purple in the anime >_> not red but still soooo pretty. the red eyes >_> and the fact that the image is stuck in crevice makes me sad but over all interesting

I'm not sure if I'll pick this one up or not, despite being a Rozen Maiden fan.
Reason being is that I already own the Rozen Maiden Erinnerung and Kunstwerk Artbooks (which I still need to review). They are currently at my house in the states so I'm not sure if these images are the same as in Erinnerung or not (recall that one being all color images).
Erinnerung was more like the definitive collection of anime illustrations (and it's all color), but these are all from the Peach-Pit manga art work, so there isn't any overlap in the two books. Same with Kunstwerk, it's the animation sketches and anime finished art works, so still nothing from Peach-Pit ;D Erinnerung is definitely the best of them all though :3

this is kirakishou.you can tell because her rose is in her right eye,and barasuishou has an eyepatch on her left eye!^^
