Double Jointed Elbow Guide
n66x on Den of Angels found the patents for Dollfie Dream and discovered that there is a hidden joint in the elbow that makes it double-jointed! Since Dollfie Dream II and Dollfie Dream Dynamite have the same arms, it works for both, but I'm not sure about Mini Dollfie Dream

I wasn't sure how it was supposed to work just from reading the thread, but when I got my Sasara I was able to figure it out. It's very simple, so I thought I'd make a little tutorial or guide of sorts to show you how it works!

Sasara's here to show you how it's done! Please excuse her crappy sock sweater... >_>

This is the usual range of the DD elbow joint. If you own a DD, you're probably very familiar with its limitations.

What you do is you grasp on either end of the elbow and pull! You'll probably have to pull real hard the first time. It's kinda scary, but don't worry, she'll be fine!

Then, pop! The elbow joint seperates.

You can see there's an extender thing here. It has notches near the ball joint, which is why it was so hard to pull out. You had to get past the notches.
Also, if you see any pinching in the vinyl of the upper arm the first time you do this, slide the extender in and out to get rid of it.

Now, if the arm isn't being bent, the elbow looks weird pulled out like this.

You can push the extender back in! As long as you don't push it in so far that the notches go back in, you will be able to slide the extender in and out with ease.
If you want, you can slide it in so the notches go in too, and the elbow will return to its single-jointed state until you pull it out again. It will be easier to pop the joint after the first time.

And that's all! I hope this was useful to you!

A "double jointed" elbow makes the joint more obvious....
Looks kinda weird for me. ^^;

That is why the 1/6 are far superior in this department... ^_^
You can replace the DD arms with Obitsu ones. They are making parts similar to the 1/6 versions.

We had this discussion last month on the flickr DD group :

I did not think to share the info here... (bad me lol). It's nice of you to share here.
As for MDD, the joints are made differently and so the single elbow joint has more range and allows to touch the face without a double joint. Their knees also have more range than DD. ^^

Really? It sounds like I need to join this flickr group! Also that's good to hear about the MDD.

You're welcome! I was hoping I could enlighten at least one person who didn't know about the joint! :D

I'd stumbled on the DoA notice earlier, but it's nice to see how the thing actually works. Makes me even more eager to get my own DD now that I know I can do all those cute face-touching poses I wanted to!
