Playing the Piano

One of the reasons why I love Japanese/Vocaloid music so much is because they don't all have the same chord progressions.

I created this video to show that Lady Gaga's Bad Romance and Coldplay's Viva la Vida, both smash hits in the U.S. right now, are pretty much the same, chord-wise.

However, I'm not saying that the music isn't good! ^^ Music isn't made to be criticized all the time. :)

So you like any popular music? Or just Japanese/anime songs?

    I tend to like Japanese/anime songs better than English music. But I still listen to English music, just not as much.

    Allot of songs often share the same chord progressions. You do tend to find this more in recent stuff... some pop music even goes so far as to sample (copy) a part of another song entirely (they do have to pay the original creator for sampled things, though). This is kinda why I don't really care for pop music. It almost seems as though pop artists today lack creativity and just sample things from other songs or have songs with rather simple musical composition. I guess as long as the song is catchy....

    Just a bit of my opinion ^^;;;

      Not to say that pop music is all bad (I shouldn't stereotype ^^;;;;), allot of it I think is really good. I also like to listen to some japanese/anime music as well, not as much as English music though.

    I like music period. ^^ I will listen to just about everything although, I do listen mostly to Japanese music right now. I agree with you about "recycled" music, for lack of a better term. It might be why I find myself listening to Vocaloid music...

    Japanese music is great. Maybe it's because of the musical talent they are endowed with... But normal music is fine occasionally when I find something genius.
    Mainstream music isn't all that great to be honest, most of the songs are just addressing the same thing over and over again, autotune and other stuff. Things get hackneyed really quick.

    I only like English songs from the 80's to the 90's... Can't really listen to anything else after that. So AniSongs only these days.

    I'm actually not a big fan of the Japanese/anime music at all @_@ I prefer pop music and the popular bands, and I'm not ashamed of it. I LOVE Miku and most of the Vocaloid songs though, but that's about it for Japanese music for me. I love something you can dance to! I pretty much like anything... except Country music, I can't explain why ^^;

    I love them both, but I guess I listen to English music more. But I also like listening to Japanese songs where there's some english lyrics, like some of WISE's songs :D

    Looove Vocaloid songs too! Miku's Vegetable Juice song is awesome LOL.
