Himitsu - DDH04 head customised

With enough natural lighting, I dug out some tools and worked on Himitsu's face a bit :) I'm intending to take her out for a doll meet soon so expect more pix later :3 (hopefully pix at the meet will turn out decent ^^;)

Can you believe I only sanded one cheek? ^^;
It softens up her jaw line a bit I think?
Himitsu's eyes are photoshopped into blue... should had gotten more eye colours *smacks head*
Using the brown wig which suits her very well, will be on hunt for one with straighter waves?
I think I like her a bit more now :)

it's interesting how a different wig can make a dollfie look so different huh!
It's also interesting how a bit of sanding and a bit of pastels can change the face a lot.
yes ^^ It takes a few tries to get the pastels right tho ^^;

Wow dollfies are great! I think I can see an age difference with the wig change. The first wig gives off the impression of her being older than the second wig...well to me in any case. Her second wig makes her look really cute!
I wonder if it's the ribbons on the 2nd wig which gives her the younger look :)

She looks sweet. This new 04 head with a smiling face is really nice. And the new faceup is IMO much better than previous, more delicate.

The changes you made were subtle, but I like them. And I agree that she looks better in the brown wig. Is it from Leekeworld? It's very cute. The wig and new makeup makes me think of a more confident Mikuru.
Oh! I got the brunette wig 2nd hand, and the first wig hmmmm from way too long back, so I am not sure where I got them from ^^; she does have a confident look on her face alright :D
I'm pretty sure the brown one is from Leekeworld, or at least extremely similar to a Leekeworld wig I've been oggling. How is caring for those curls?

The modification is very subtle. I use a program as well to see what eye colors and stuff looks on the dollfie heads that I have been looking at.

Think brunette hair and blue eyes look best on her.

i've been wondering how to sand dollfie faces how do you go about it and not make a bunch of scratches
Oh! there's still some fine scratches if you look closely, it's hard to pick up with the camera tho. I buff the end result with those fingernail buffer sticks. Still need to work on it a bit more tho ^^; I bought more sand paper today (gonna use the finer grit paper)

Start with coarse sand paper grit and finish with extra fine sandpaper grit. After you buff a long time with extra fine sandpaper, the scratches will be gone. It takes a long time ^^"
When doing a bigger mod, I start with a dremmel to sand and get the shape I want quickly, then work with sandpaper a long time to smooth things down.
too bad my husband don't have a smaller dremel tool lol his is massive so I gotta use penknife first, then coarse sandpaper, finer one and then buffer :D

Hehe interesting you got nice result just sanding the right cheek. Then again I believe these heads are hand sculpted and therefore they are not 100% symmetrical (like a real human face). Remember when I said as I sanded down DD Excellen lips I noticed they were not symmetrical!! hehe.
She looks softer and sweeter now! I like the lips makeup better this way, so cute. She looks cute in both wigs, but you should get different eye colors and wig styles and color to experiment till u find the combo you like best on her (if your budget permits?) Thats the fun part of custom DD ^^
Heehee I was definitely reminded of your sanding attempt which inspired all my tests LOL I'm glad I tried to use pastels this time, painting with acrylic just doesn't cut it unfortunately, and yes gonna have to save some dough for the extra eyes + wigs to come :3 I have mostly light coloured wigs cos they fit the other girls better :)

It must take a bit of guts to give a custom head a shot. Those heads are a bit pricey, so you don't want to mess up.
What do you use to do the make up? What colour pastels do you use?
By the way, what eyes are those red ones? I keep seeing them around but don't know what make they are and who sells them.
Very pretty! I'll hopefully be getting this doll head, I was thinking of making her with bright blue eyes and brown hair. Maybe borwn eyes with brown hair?
