Adopt a Dollfie Dream Sasara Contest Details
A few weeks ago I announced that I will be holding an Adopt a Dollfie Dream Sasara Contest and I have spent the last couple of weeks trying decide on a contest format that is fair and have the ability to incorporate my own opinion as well as public opinion and finally, to test the contestants’ knowledge about Sasara! I have actually decided on the contest format some time ago but since we are drawing close to December, I think it’s best to get the contest started, the intent is of course to have Sasara arrive at her new home before Christmas.
Anyway, here are the rules:
* Hopefully, Danny won’t mind that I am using Figure.fm as the contest location, otherwise I will have to host it in my own site, which could be less fun :(
* Contestant must already be a member at Figure.fm, and have already introduced himself/herself to the community in one way or another, in an attempt to weed out any potential Dollfie Dream reseller.
* Contest will be consists of two parts
* The first part of the contest involves the contestant submitting an “application” to become Sasara’s new parent, this “application” can be represented in any form, it can be a Sasara fan art, can be a 4koma, composite photo, a poem, an essay, absolutely anything you can think of that can show how much you are going to love your new daughter Sasara. Your goal here is to impress the “Judges” and show how much affection you have for Sasara, please keep that in mind and keep it in good taste.
* Contestants will have to submit their application to me at wolfheinrich at hotmail dot com no later than the end of the day on December 10th, 2009 CST.
* Now the next part is where both my own opinion and the public opinion will be considered: I will choose one favorite application (without telling anyone) and I will also post all of the applications to figure.fm for everyone to look at and vote for their favorite application.
* If the one I chose and the one chosen by the figure.fm community is the same application, then it’s automatic winner, no further contest would be necessary.
* If the one I chose and the one chosen by the community is not the same, the two contestants will advance to the next stage and have to answer a list of quiz questions I have prepared, the subject is of course going to be about Sasara’s storyline as it is presented in the ToHeart 2 PC version of the game (the OVA doesn’t count since I don’t consider that the real storyline), some questions about figure.fm and some about my own blog. This part of the contest will have to be conducted in real time so whoever answer the all the questions correctly first will be declared as winner.
Ok that’s basically all the rules, the eventual winner will have to pay a “dowry” $650+$50 Express mail shipping/insurance to me at a paypal account I designated within a few days time so I can have Sasara sent out to the winner in time for Christmas.
Oh, one more thing. I know there is no way I can actually enforce this, but let just say I will be very unhappy to see Sasara here being “resell” for profit in anyway. I am doing this to specifically to avoid seeing Dollfie Dream being used for “profit” making while robbing legitimate collectors in despair.
Interesting contest and so tempting at the same time, just to see your pic of Sasara telling something like "I wanna be yours" make me nuts.
Sadly, I don't know anything about the ToHeart 2 PC game in the eventually that I reach a second stage but it's worth to try.

Hm, interesting. And LOL at your use of the term "dowry". XD Since Sasara isn't one of the girls I'm after, I'll just watch from the sidelines. (Now if Nanoha or Fate were to come up for adoption, that'd be another story altogether. . )

I understand how you feel, and if I were to be in your shoes, I would have gone for Rina chan myself lol... Sasara just can't hold a candle in front of Rina chan.

Sasara has her own beauty, and is truely wonderful.. I just realize, in my position.. Saving the bucks, and getting Rina-chan will be the better choice for me. Though it really amazes me how few people realize, the answer to your quiz.. is on your blog. ^^:

I don't remember rejecting any legitimate parent from participating in the contest, only reseller would be rejected outright.

I'm a frequent visitor of Y!Japan and I'm well aware of the lovely Sasara's value. As such, I can understand why it concerns you. This isn't a good comparison, but it would be somewhat similar if I had to sell my beloved bichon frise. I would want to interview every person and make sure he went to a wonderful home instead of someone who would use him as a breeding dog for profit. :(

Yes, the contestants will be given a list of questions and they both have online at the same time, the time will be determined and agree by all parties involved. I will distribute the list of multiple choice questions here in a post and they will have to reply with answers within a set amount of time.
The contestants will be given instructions to answer the questions in their own unique order so that it will not be possible to copy answers that they don't know.

Interesting contest :) I have been pining to own a dollfie for months now, and this is a good chance to get one, and Sasara's one of the girls I've been eying (2nd to Airi, whom I fell in love with through your beautiful pictures of her) too bad I can't even afford the "dowry" and I there's practically no opportunity for me to play the game in private, knowing that it's an eroge, and besides I can't read Japanese :(

Haha, I have no idea how many contestants I am going to get but when I made my first post a few weeks ago, I realized that there may be just quite a few of them floating around so I have to decide on a fair screening process.

This contest looks interesting . I have been interested in Dolfies ever since Danny bought his first Dolfie but If I do have one , I could imagine a big whole in my treasure Chest on spending clothes and stuff .

That's a shame it's not a full giveaway. Although that is a huge chunk off her price, I can't even think about paying the dowry for her. My beautiful figures have left me destitute.
