I still have no idea how shutter speed works though.
The lower ur shutter speed, the longer the camera will be exposed to light. So if u have moving light on ur scenery, every movement of it will be caught (kinda like drawing).
There's a shutter speed for most SLRs called "Bulb" where the shutter does not stop until u let go of the button. XD Awesome stuff!

Just out of curiosity, how many tries did it take to get it just right? When I have played with that technique it took me forever to get close to what I wanted.
2 tries, the first one I hit the tripod that my camera was on and it came out crappy.
